Creates a singular layer by which any means of existing data can be put through to any other existing system, and is done in such a way that future systems will be able to integrate older systems using that layer. This is what we call "interoperability" interoperability allows for anything that produces data of a certain kind to communicate with any other system or device of a different qualification of data. Cool, instead of a multiple swaps and points of failure, write a smart contract that uses money from your stock portfolio through Overledger to directly ping the IoT data supply and send it once more through Overledger to the chain where you would need such data.
