how do you become less materialistic and not care about money?

As far as I understand it, our lust and desire for material objects such as expressive cars, clothes, and other consoooomer shit is brainwashed and implemented into us so we obviously feed the cycle of capitalism and serve those who are above us in the pyramid of capitalism. We are literally brainwashed everyday by commercials on tv, music videos, adverts on social media...everywhere...constantly

we are literally being farmed of our money (and life/time spent slaving for money to spend it on the shit they are trying to sell us) like the humans are 'batterys' on the matrix being farmed for electricity by the sentinels.

I just want enough for freedom and a comfy NEET life, traveling cheaply around the world and working on myself spiritually

You can't really, you have to join the capitalism system in order to survive, that's the trick, even if you don't like fancy cars and blabla you might get trapped somehow in the wheel, making you a consumer of the "desires" that they force on you is just a +, eventually society adopts all these capitalist traits and there's no one pleasant left, it becomes a big rumble where everyone wants to put you down for their best interest because they don't really know any better.

If you're constantly grinding for that shit but not letting yourself enjoy the process and constantly offsetting your happiness to "just when I get this next thing" then it won't be very fulfilling. Babies first acid trip, etc. You could even make this same argument regarding education, degrees, reading etc. Sure, you want to be knowledgeable, but to what extent is it necessary to optimize utility? Point being, you have to find a balance between the material and ethereal planes. Find a way to live that is minimal enough in the material sense to provide utility and a modicum of satisfaction, while spiritually engaging enough to engender reflection.
