Wise for what? Studying in uni is purely inefficient way to acquire specific knowledge. And it's next to impossible to get real/usable skills over there.

What I mean is - invest in learning skill(s) in your free time, and don't put too much hope that diploma gonna guarantee you anything in future. Of course it's nice extra to have aside.

It's one thing to read about martial arts and another to actually face it and join a local gym, club or dojo. Meet, socialize, learn people skills in both verbal and physical principles. Surrender yourself to new experiences entirely. Embrace the unfamiliar. Get out of your comfort zone.

I could tell you to read something cliche like Sun Tzu or Miyamoto Musashi's Book of Five Rings. The latter is actually a series of letters addressed to his one closest disciple. Nippon /biz/ salary men reading that shit like business gospel makes me nauseate, when it's literally scrolls about sword techniques.

Honestly what you need is inspiration. I actually just finished Vagabond, a fictional tale of Musashi's ventures and philosophy. Amazing visuals by based Takehiko Inoue. Obviously you just need to be aware of the fiction and what is the real thing.

Get out. Join a club. Guaranteed, you'll grow as a person.

Personally I don't actively try to seek or attain spirituality. Having enough passion and zeal to try and develop my skill is alone what drives me to self-reflect and meditate.

My thing is literally Japanese swordsmanship and Musashi in particular, so I'm mostly reading shit revolving around the subject.

Damn. Eskrima has piqued my interest for a while.
I do HEMA, too, in addition to Japanese kenjutsu. Mostly rapier and dagger though. A little bit of long sword and side sword.
