It was a PnD, no doubt.
I spent past week reading ONLY official statements and researching the fuck out of the company.

I got 300 stock at .43
Had ~50 calls that i bought at .05-.10 each. No big loss for me. Maybe out $300.

Heres my stance on the following questions
"So what now?"

>Im going to hold!
In their statements (prior conference call transcripts), their "2017 customer" (i.e. Microsoft) pushed product launch to 2021. Revenue is going to be low.
Expect to be sitting on the money for a while...money that could be invested in other things.
Time = money

>they got good product
From what i can tell, they only manufactured a handful of critical components.
They licensed this to Microsoft and stopped their own production. They get royalties now.

>the patents!
I looked up every patent of theirs going back 10 years and looked up every name on linkedin.
Most "jumped ship" to Microsoft 2017 and beyond.

New patents are being issued to these same engineers...but to Microsoft.

Meaning...Microvision has lost their key talent and they are producing new tech directly for Microsoft.

Microvision is a company of ~30 employees, 60% of which were laid off in march and many now work at Microsoft.

>their future
They are working on brining lidar to market and aiming at automobile market.
!MAJOR PROBLEM!
Every major auto manufacturer I looked at is using lidar made by luminar.
Microvision was too slow to mature the product

>buyout?
Microsoft MAY buy out company to buy patents and intellectual property. Mostly to keep out of hands of competitors.
But based on cost of royalties (a couple million), buyout price wouldnt be high. Microsoft already has their cake...the employees.

>selling off verticles/tech
It was discussed in conference call that there is possibility of selling of verticles.
They wont sell Lidar because they dont have it yet.
So this means selling off their MEMs or PICOP tech. Probably directly to Microsoft.

In this scenario, Microvision becomes a true husk of a company. A shambling zombie.

>it can only go up from here!
Wrong.
Reverse stock split. Your 50 shares of .50 now become 25 shares of $1. It then drops further from there.
This has happened to them multiple times as they have had multiple reverse splits.

Tldr:
microvision is sunk.
Old or developing tech.
Lost many key employees to Microsoft.
Stock price has fall further.

Best you can hope for is reverse split and then buyout from Microsoft within a year or two.

Will probably give $2-3 a share.

So I hold, right?

They are probably going for buyout to clean out their 500ish patents.

Microsoft competitors give them leverage.
Forces Microsoft to make a competitive bid lest apple or a predatory company come in, swipe them up, and cancel their licensing.

The stock price went up because of rumor of a buyout.

Pump and dumpers rode it for a quick buck.

The possibility of buyout is still there.
The worse the company does, the more of a possibility this becomes.
Risk is getting delisted before buyout can occur (?)
