18931830 No.18931830 [Reply] [Original]

Ethereum staking is the most anticipated, and most hyped thing to happen in crypto ever. There is more energy behind this than ever.
The main beneficiary of this hype cycle will be Rocketpool.
Rocketpool is the uniswap of eth2 staking, except rocketpool has no true competitors for at least a year.
It's not always easy to get a clean 10x. Don't miss this opportunity. Many anons have been stacking like mad for the last month. RPL marketcap is still only 20 million.
Do yourself a favor and get in before the next beta release.
Things are moving quickly, moreso than it seems.

This 100%.

What people aren't seeing is that rocketpool offers a decentralized network of nodes that any application can tap into . I forsee not only wallets but all the exchanges especially the decentralized ones. Kyber, Uniswap, 1inch, and Cexs like Idex binance and eventually coinbase. Even Gemeni.

Also, think how many Nodes each of these applications will be running since there is only 32 ETH per node and you will need a certain amount of RPL per node and ETH (until the network is at 100% utilizaation).

Its an awesome protocol that will be the first POS layer on Ethereum.

its literally some of the best tokenomics ive seen. I'll try to eli5. to start, if you are just a normie with 1 or more eth you can stake on rocketpool w/o rpl. Easy as pie. IF you want to earn some extra yield on staking running a rocketpool node you'll need to have some rpl. The rpl supply is very low and only less than 2k wallets hold. The supply and demand factor alone going to push the price. LEts say rpl goes to $10. A node comes along with their 16 eth and needs 16 rpl, its only going to cost them $160, a no-brainer for the extra yield.

In short. From a pure math standpoint, the payouts from the smart node, compared to the staking rewards you get for the price of the rpl you need to lock up balance out around 0.1 ETH = 1RPL.

If RPL is cheaper than that it makes sense to stake with Rocletpool instead of your own node.

Currently it trades for around 0.007 eth

What exchanges are ready to offer a decentalized node network like rocketpool?

Your basically asking the same questions nonLINKers were asking.

"why doesn't all these projects and Ethereum just make their own oracles?"

Yet every single project and also Ethereum is integrating with Chainlink. The same will happen with Rocketpool

Let the experts do what they do best. Offer a service and then let their partners profit by connecting to that service. In Rocketpools case, a decentralized POS node network.

Nevermind I found it.
If the network has plenty of capacity, then node operators need more RPL to make deposits. It gets progressively more expensive in terms of RPL to make node deposits when the network does not have enough ETH from regular stakers to be matched up with node operators. This helps prevent several attack vectors outlined in the whitepaper and keeps assignment of ether ‘chunks’ to nodes quick.

To be fair, that estimation is based off of a number of assumptions:

- Running a RPL node nets you 10% extra returns on staking rewards, eg. 5.5% pa return over 5%. (I haven't seen any solid sources offering this as anything more than a reasonable assumption, so could go either side)

- No other staking pools will be launched to compete (fine on this one as long as RPL is the only competitor in the space. Centralised exchanges offering their own options are likely, but probably won't be competitive enough on actual service to drive down price)

- Fair RPL price could also reasonably go above the p.a. returns threshold since you don't burn them when you stake with them (eg. buying at 0.2 RPL:1 ETH with the same 10% extra gains would easily be reasonable if you plan to stake over a number of years, you'd just make back your starting money in two years instead of 1). Basically comes down to how much extra capital node operators are willing to put down for increased returns long-term.

0.1 RPL:1 ETH is a good starting point, but honestly it could go anywhere
