Yep. I had to rent for three years after college to be able to afford to buy a house, and I’m one of the lucky ones. Most take longer. I ran the numbers and I spent $45k on rent I will never see again.
At least with a house even in economic downturn I see *some* of the money back. But the problem is it takes too long to get there unless your parents are rich and will pay your down payment for you or something.
