Why am I more drained from working half as hard at home, than I was working at full effort in the office?

>> No.18886392

because you were getting more exercise and taking in more food and generally doing more thought intensive tasks that kept you more awake and alert, not to mention the stimulus from being in any environment that isn't your home

Are you on a lot of video calls?

Home is usually where we reserve our best efforts since that is where we do actually productive stuff. The brain is confused because you are doing work but in the context where you usually put actual effort in. It feels like you're working on something real because it's at home, but the body knows deep down something is wrong and this generates conflict and unease. I go balls to the wall on my personal projects. No combat this I carved out a little larp corner for getting in the pretend to work mindset so it's not contaminating my real work station and I can maintain the mental distinction of real work and job stuff.
