Aussie here
I have ~ 8k in USD (cash) I want to deposit into my IB account. How do I make that happen without converting to AUD? I don't mind paying a small processing fee.

Heres what I'm looking at ATM:
>Open HSBC account https://www.hsbc.com.au/1/2/personal/savings/foreign-flexi
>wait for ages
>go to branch to deposit money
>Transfer money to broker

Ever heard of MiloCoin?

chuck a grand behind MILOcoin ausbro. it will turn into at least 50, maybe even 100 considering how low price is right now.

also just open up any basic transaction account, deposit over the counter, then transfer online to IB.

Western Union perhaps?

Why don't you want to convert from USD to AUD? The fees?

weak AUD, unfavorable exchange fees and I do some trades in USD

Well I think your original plan is probably the way to go. There's not much market in sending USD from Oz to America.
