Here is the biggest redpill on crypto.

You are told to "Hodl" because you are an NPC that is incapable of controlling their emotional state to be able to succeed in trading. You also act as liquidity for bigger boys to move the price away from you, and as support and resistance levels.

It is a meme which protects you from yourself. If you have the ability to disconnect all emotion from your trading decisions, then trading is infinitely more profitable than holding shitcoins. You have to be a literal ROBOT. If you see a position that fits your trade criteria, you take it without question. You then manage the risk on that trade to ensure at maximum you lose 1-2% but seek to profit 3-6% minimum, that way, even if you win less than 50% of trades you still make money.

If you end up on a closing streak which sees your capital drawn down, most NPCs throw in the towel at this point, hence the meme that trading is not profitable. You have to continue even in face of this because mathematically as long as you stick to your system of grinding out trades with a higher reward percentage than risk percentage, over time, you accumulate equity.

Do you think whales hodl? No they don't. Which is why the price constantly fluctuates with massive volatility. If you had swung every top and bottom, or even caught the wave on each cycle, you would be many many times more profitable than hodling, which in itself is a massive risk since I assume the vast majority of hodlers do not implement any form of risk management.

I would say only those with high functioning autism, those who have achieved a state of zen or some sort of personality disorder can truly control themselves in such a disciplined manner as to exponentially grow their account this way.
