Ok /biz/ I'll be honest, Im a brainlet. I have $2000 I want to invest in crypto but I dont know where to stop. I have dumped about $100 into coinbase just playing around but have lost money everytime. Been reading about HEX today, is it worth it? What are some other cryptos worth checking? What are some cardinal rules?

pls no bully this isnt a shitpost im genuinely a brainlet and I have solid state Marshall half stack to prove it.

>> No.18740714

Pls help! I promise to never shitpost on this board

Hex is a scam. If you're not a degenerate gambler buy eth and hold. Otherwise, yolo it on calls.

Yes it's worth it. You've found it way before it goes mainstream. Don't be so harsh on yourself fren. You're gonna make it.

>>18740860

>lost money everytime
are you buying garbage coins or are you buying good coins but sell when the price dips?
With a thousand bucks I think the best thing to do is to buy a single chunk at $50. Then set 5 or 7 limit orders at increments below the price your currently at.
Then check the price once a day only. ONCE ONLY. And buy a $50 chunk if the price has gone up. Set a couple of new limit buys at the higher prices.
Buy good coins. Have patience. Have discipline. Put the other grand on SPY.

Coinbase is fine but eventually you'll want a hardware wallet. You don't want thousands of dollars stored on a server somewhere in China. Ledger nano S is fine for that.

Best to buy on uniswap and don't listen to the people calling it a scam. It's not. DYOR. This might be your best chance at making it anon.

Hex is a scam, it is literally in its own description.

So was the Ponzi scheme dApp called exitscam.me, also known as FOMO3D. That didn’t stop it from getting extremely popular with the winner getting over $1 mil.

However, 90% of people got scammed. Do you think you will be in the 10% or 90% if you buy hex asking these questions?

Don’t do it fren. Buy ETH and hold.

First off you can buy crypto on coinbase but you need a wallet, never hold crypto on an exchange. I personally use Exodus as it can hold 100's of different coins. If I were you I'd invest $1000 in BTC, $800 in ETH, and $200 in something more risky but generally the more risk the more profit that can be made. Remember im not a financial advisor, just a retard with internet access. I wish you the best of luck anon :)

I have a hardware wallet
I wish I had a blood pressure cuff on when the thing locked me out because I forgot the p.i.n.
The mnemonic code worked though.
My point is diversifying your storage methods isn't a bad idea.

I bought and sold a few popular options like bitcoin, bitcoin cash, atom. But I always seem to buy and sell at the wrong time. I like the tip about checling the prices only once. Ill look into Spy, thank you.

>>18740967
Thank you! Never even knew you could get hardware wallets.

>>18740991
Can I buy in a place like uniswap then transfer to a hardware wallet?

>>18741006
Damn thats a good point. I just dropped $50 onto ETH. Will probably do another $50 tomorrow

>>18741028
Thank you! Everyone seems to really support ETH and it does look steady for a crypto

Me too. Trade less and use limit orders.
And, in case you don't know, SPY isn't a coin.

>Can I buy in a place like uniswap then transfer to a hardware wallet?

Metamask is already decentralized, and it's easiest to use that or similar when buying off uniswap. You may as well keep your tokens on the webwallet, and use the hardware one for assisting your hands in times of weakness.

Your cash should be staying as cash right now. Nothing is going up in value until the quarantine is over, and there's a high risk that you or someone you care about will lose their income in the near future. Keep saving cash, and when the quarantine is over, and you have around $10k saved, go see a financial advisor like a normal investor.

Crypto is a speculative asset. There are no dividends, no stock buybacks, and no underlying asset. The only way to make money in crypto is by outplaying other speculators, and you are among the 99% of people that have no business trying to do that.
