I'm renting a flat and I saw two cockroaches in one bathroom, that I use once a month, three days ago.

I immediately killed them, washed the bathroom with white vinegar (I read that they hate the smell + it's disinfectant) and blocked ALL exits (aeration, sink and the hole where the water from the shower goes). I closed the door and put big scotch everywhere on it so I'm sure any cockroach can escape from this room.

I called the landlord three days ago so he can bring professionals to kill the colony who is hiding somewhere in the building or in the street (I think they came from aeration because of the place where I found them in the bathroom) but this bitch does not answer my texts.. Strange fact because she usually answer very fast.

I don't care about this flat, I rent it because it was big and somehow luxury but now that I know there are cockroaches in the aerations (that I blocked all) I don't want to live here anymore, even if she treats the issue.

My plan was get her to treat the problem and then to send the letter saying that I will leave the apartment after one month (to respect the contract that I signed with her) but time is running and she is not answering my texts... (delaying the time I can leave the apartment)

She has a guarantee (one month of rent), it's not money that I need but it's not money that I'm ready to offer her so I have to play it smart.

I have 2 possibilities:

1) I call the professionals, pay them and then tell her to lower the next rent for the amount that I paid for their intervention + leaving the flat anyway

2) Keep blocking every entrance / exit for one month and then leave the flat without telling her BUT keeping the keys of the triple secured door as an hostage to take back my money (I will be in another country + not planning to go back in this one anyway) so it's possible. This door is fucking expensive I think she will surrender to my threats.

The truth is buddy you probably are the one who brought them in. And secondly they will respond promptly if they are rational as this shit gets expensive fast. The longer an infestation lingers the harder it is to purge. 2 roaches (and the 20 under the sink) quickly become 2000. Here's what you need to do in the mean time. Remove everything from your kitchen cabinets, they will crawl all over them and you will find dead roaches in your bowls etc. Remove all cardboard immediately. Clean everything and remove all clutter. Consider throwing a torn up cig around the apartment as they hate tobbaco. Then you are gonna need an exterminator which the Lord will provide Hopefully. You are likely gonna have roaches for the next 2-5 months before this is over.

You can withhold rent until she does. Look up your state/city tenancy laws. If you stare to you contact your cities tenancy organization, and that you’re withholding rent until it’s solved. Roaches like any other living beeing need food to live and expand, and usually they eat what you left. Clean up your flat, leave some roach traps and see if they still coming

I don't use this bathroom so much because it's not the one linked to my room, it's like a guests' bathroom

And no I did not brought them here because they come from the aeration of a bathroom that I use not so often + I'm very hygienic and even my suitcase is cleaner than your ass

No this is not a copy pasta and no there are no others room with cockroaches because I bought traps and put them everywhere and no insect were found in other places.
