the big exchanges will close and dump everything. it will cause a chain reaction and all your profit goes to zero in a matter of hours. the great thing about bitcoin is you can't just shut it down like the stock market. If the public agrees bitcoin isn't worth anything it is over nobody will buying your worthless numbers that are calculated.

Blockchain is a great invention but nothing more.
Bitcoin is a prototype and might fuel a currency in the future. But the prototype is never worth much. Only sentimental value wich will very unlikely more than the cost of electricity to run it.

If a government wants bitcoin as a currency they will just steal it. Satoshi surely won't mind and there is no patent. Therefore the only use of holding bitcoin is to be a test subject that will never get rewarded. Because the government do not do that kinda thing.
