it’s easy to do on your own but if your business is in an industry that’s very regulated you should probably consult with a business attorney to make sure you don’t fuck anything up. if you’re just cutting yards or selling t-shirts you can set up the llc by yourself by going to your state’s secretary of state website

Yes OP, in most states there's a process to do it on your entirely. I filed all the documents online directly using a state government system and it cost me about 100 bucks for all of the initial filing fees. It isn't that hard, but I highly recommend you Google around for information about YOUR state's process.
I waited for the processing (took about a week to get approved) and then was able to get an EIN from the IRS using the IRS' online system in less than 15 minutes after that. Use that to open a bank account or whatever.
