Why can't i get over my youth

There was a time period of about 3 years, from 19-22, in which i remember everything i experienced was very intense, i was full of grand dreams and had visions of a magnificent future. I still have visions, but they are not of the emotional intensity as they were during this period. Does anyone else remember this? What is it about this age range? Is that really the best age? Idk. I'm almost 30 and still can't seem to get over it or grasp the full picture.

same here OP. i was just happy all the time, and i would settle for nothing less than the best. i really fucked myself over a lot though

the big change i noticed from that time was losing my virginity, i think that has to do with it. there really is something pure about virginity, even for men. also booze and drugs in general. i'm moving on but i will be confused about this for a while, maybe i'll spend some time reading the stoics to see if they have any insight.

What I did from 18-22 was create in this intense imagination, my future self, knowing it wouldnt last forever. Now because of that bond, I am simply an extension of my younger self.. the image and tool that my younger self knew was optimal.
