I understand the logic behind the doubt, and that the reporting requirements are pretty loose, but when you've got deaths per day hitting 700 or upwards, its kinda hard to deliberate like Sherlock on the cause of death when you've got several hundred other bodies to shuffle into refrigerated trucks.

Corners have to be cut in cases of extreme volumes of death. Especially when you still have to operate on a regular schedule with an ever increasing volume of patient that need tending to. It's not just a black-and-white situation.

If you don't know they died because of corona, don't count them as corona deaths.

The standard for counting the infected is like that: no positive test? Not counted as corona.

The cdc numbers "flu cases" and "flu deaths" are not actually recorded cases. It's HIGHLY extrapolated number based on very few cases. If you want to get a comparable number with corona, you should use similar extrapolation on corona cases and deaths. If I remember correctly, reported flu deaths are taken from only a small bunch of hospitals from only 13 or less states, adjusted by a large factor to consider "under diagnosis" in these reporting hospitals, then adjusted again to count "deaths that were related to flu complications but flu was no longer detectable". Then the whole shit is extrapolated to federal level and you end up with an error margin sometimes in tens of thousands in deaths.

Pic related, its the total number of positive flu cases in the states during 2019-2020. So essentially they are extrapolating a total of 222,552 actually detencted positive flu tests into 30 million cases and tens of thousands of deaths.

What most flu wankers do not realize is that the absolute number of deaths is not the way to compare anyway. Influenza viruses pass through most of the population every few years and have been doing that for the past century and more. Covid-19 is a virus strain new to humans and it has not reached a major part of the population yet.
