Look at another drug originally developed by Gilead, Tamiflu (oseltamivir, now produced by Roche). Yes, it technically does protect against the flu. But it is not a miracle cure all for the flu, nor will it ever be. Most good doctors will never prescribe it. Even a best case scenario for Remsedevir does not mean what people seem to think. And that's IF it's as efficacious as Tamiflu.
Add to this their pre-existing financial struggles (see the Truvada patent conundrum for a glimpse), and there is no way their stock is worth $80.
