I'm aiming for a dollar again, but i've noticed when this actually runs say 10-15% it will continue to run for another 30-40%. I actually got really lucky with an announcement that was very bullish by nymt about how they haven't defaulted on anything when i bought at 1.43 and sold around 2.50 ish when it dropped from 2.80. But i'm not overall very bullish on mortgages if this situation keeps looming. Sub dollar pickup would be a steal.

This one in particular is mortgage backed securities for residential. Ladder capital is for big businesses. Both move tightly together. Look for one leading and the other will follow if it hasn't. That's my advice.

there is no way NYMT and MFA etc are paying dividends right now. the last one NYMT paid was december, at their usual 20 cents per quarter on an average stock price around 6 bucks. I should know, I used to own a lot of NYMT. I did make a few hundred bucks selling it after buying it in the 1 dollar range. still would be a good hold as EVENTUALLY it would get back to where it's valued but fuck knows how long that'll be, and there's better long term plays anyway.
