TACHYON VPN still the best.
No cheating as TACHYON runs a transparent calculation of Network stake which you can also calculate yourself with the formula: Total IPX staked divided by the total nodes in the network.

People are out on the streets shopping, most places have switched to heat cameras instead of temp checks. Used to have to get my temp taken every time I bought groceries. Some restaurants and stores have closed, lots still open

In my community if you have a fever you're going to go on a list. If you're on that list they are going to come and check on you and ask you to sign a form saying you'll stay home for 14 days. If you sign that form then they are going to come and make sure you're at home for 2 weeks, twice a day morning and evening. If you try to leave while you're on that list they won't let you back inside. Other apartments are lest strict but I am living in a 'model community' that's supposed to be an example for the rest so they follow every single rule closely.

Calming down. January and February were bad. Like I thought the world was ending bad. Now people are out on the streets again- old Shanghai uncles are back to smoking and spitting, kids are all out of school so there's always a bunch of them playing in the park. Jogging trail is full of people again. Street musicians came back out. Delivery drivers can bring food directly to my door from almost anywhere in this massive city. My favorite pancake place opened back up after 3 months and the owner remembered me. Bars are back open. No more tourists shitting up things. It's not half bad.

>>18615843

I am prepped for a second wave but I think it's really under control here. I've never experienced anything like the lockdown that took place in Shanghai in January and February. The difference from the States is that alot of the coordinated response came from the authoritarian PRC gov while the responsibility for handling this in the US has fallen largely on the private sector who (from what I can only assume) responded in an uncoordinated and thereby largely ineffective manner. American gov structure and policy left the States especially vulnerable. Glad my family is in a smaller city and not anywhere near the coasts. Good luck muh fellow 'murican, Godspeed.

Positive thing about China (at least the cities I visited) is there seemed to be almost no petty street crime. Like you can leave your bike or luggage unnatended and it will mostly still be there when you come back. You agree?

>> No.18616290

>>18616182

sure- it's hard to get away with stealing stuff when you're always on camera. Most crime is organized or semi-legal. There's motorcycle taxi mafia that hangs around tourist areas to rip off foreigners, but you can use a cab hailing app and get a fair rate or walk a block and get an honest taxi. Not many foreigners now so that's pretty much shut down. There's also people who sell fake products or clubs that sell fake alcohol ( had a bad experience at a club serving fake juice- worst hangover ever and got my watch stolen inside the club) but with a little knowledge those are easy to avoid as well. From my understanding crime is forced into a kind of underworld that exists away from cameras or under the eyes of corrupt officials and businessmen. Not gone, just hidden. It's not a utopia.
