Drive a mercedes S class. Worked hard, had no life for a few years. Literally worked non-stop for like 5 years or so. Both domestically and over sea....

It feels alright. Had some old d00d in an old benz wave at me yesterday in a parking lot.

Ride is pretty comfy , pretty quick for a big ass car.

Cops fuck with you a lot... kind of sucks , but i guess that is their hustle...

Yeah, I guess , I have no debt, own all my stuff. Wifey has a benz too.... wrecked it and had to rebuild it but yeah thems the breaks...

Been on a severance package since the beginning of this year... assuming massive inflation doesn't happen , could probably go another year not working , and still have savings..

Kind of had a lot of mini-melt downs...

Had to just up and leave over seas because of melting down and substance abuse....

Sadly everything comes at a price..

Pretty ok now. Go to a therapist every week, but sober and not nutting out, so yeah like I said everything comes at a cost....

In Western Europe, especially in Deutschland, a 90k car is pretty common. Typically as a company car. I usually drive a plain Mercedes S-class because it is just an amazing car; it looks goods and does not show off too much. However, when you are a young person like me, 25 y.o., some people look at you with envy, but most don't seem to care.

Although we live by "pour vivre heureux vivons cachés" and don't like to show off. I do have to admit that driving the F488 or Rolls comes with some public resentment.

Guy , that former poster called based boomer here.

People saying maintenance and insurance will eat you alive....

1) learn to wrench. I did a 3k service on my wife's car with some basic tools, being able to read , and some patience . (breaking a 140ft/lb of torque bolt sucks when laying on your back)

2) insurance, I am "high risk" and pay 115$usd a month, and no it ain't basic shit. If you own the damn thing you get a reasonable rate. Also you should have reasonable credit that helps too..

3) owned my S class for almost 3 years ... maintain it myself ... spent like 1.5k maintaining it....

I don’t mind driving a car that people stare at. I like driving old, every day drivers, that people are nostalgic for. When people look & smile, it brings back a lot of memories. Memories of being young with their families, road trips, their first date when they were allowed to take out the family car.
I would never drive a “meat head” ‘super car’ because yes, they are embarrassing & attention seeking.

While I agree with the advice, I don't think it's middle-age crisis that fueles it. That's just what people say out of spite. If I want a fancy car, I will be middle-age by the time I am able to afford one. And I think that's the case with most people that got their first sportscar at an older age - they couldnt buy it eariler. Kinda sad but oh well.

I drive my mother's old vw polo 2001, but once I got to drive a black BMW 750 li 300kw 2009 for a week. It had nice alpina wheels and overall looked really clean and sleek. Costs about €15k though(uses like 20 liters per 100km). Anyway driving that thing as a 19 year old last year was fucking great. The power, sound and the look of the car made a lot of people stare. Heck just the sound alone made people look. You pull up to the stoplight with your big ass car(longer wheelbase model), then just push the pedal until you feel that "click" and you'll just launch away. The interior is also so comfy.

I have $65k in LINK and thought about buying a car like that, but the maintenance and gas is just too much currently. Car should be max 10% of your net worth and ideally leased. Porsche GT cars are great too. I think there is a car bubble that is going to pop in general and there will be more buys coming up. Depends what you want though, I mean a GT3 is a lot different of a car than a Ferrari.

430 Scuderia does have a fast F1 trans and still a beautiful sound but I'm not too keen on it's looks, IMO it's kinda like an ugly duckling between the 360 and 458.
AMG GT-R is also one of the best-buys but it sounds just like every modern turbo AMG, it's not a high-revving engine like the Ferrari or Porsche, not really that special if you ask me.

>Depends what you want though
Something that's scary fast but can also corner.

720S and 600LT are perfect cars in my book for both insane acceleration and track performance but the ownership stories sound like horror shows.

My dad currently has a GTR. Before that, two GT3s. He can't wait for the new GT3 to come out so he can switch. The GTR was fun for a bit and now its a hassle -- too big

That's his shit driveway and not knowing how to enter one in a low clearance car like a woman. Not some manufacturer's defect.

Only smart person itt. Roasties see leather, nav, and hear sport exaust and can't differentiate much past that. Meanwhile my decade old bimmer is worth like 5k (+8k for mmp3 turbos and replaced/repaired everything from previous owner). 650awhp for peanuts.

That being said fast cars are pretty gay once you leave your 20's...or actually have something better to do than show up at court dates for speeding tickets. Plus almost no car can give you the rush of a sportbike...especially not for the same cost. Broke niggers take the litter bike pill.

Yeah the GTRs have a problem of trying to check too many boxes. It's ended up being a master of none.

The Porsche's are great, even if not that exciting. If he wants to drive it often and with zero hassle, I'd get a GT3. If he wants something more aggressive with a tradeoff of lower clearance and less comfort, I'd for sure try to get a GT3 RS allocation if he can budget it. For an all around, even daily driver, Porsche, the GT3 is superior to the RS though. I mean a GT3 I'll take to the grocery store. GT3RS, maybe at like 8am when it is empty and if I know the ramp is smooth .

He's a professional race car driver. His driveway has barely an incline and his problem is not unique.

The improvement in driving you get from any car over $50k is the same kind of improvement audiophiles get from buying a $4k valve amp and $500 speaker wire. Oh boy do they hear a difference, objective scientific measurements be damned. All they fucking do is brag about their setup because it's so much better since they spent a few hundred on low oxygen copper SATA cables. Meanwhile sane people think they're a bunch of dumb assholes, which is the truth.
Face it, buying a super expensive car is the same as buying designer jeans.

Most likely you are of the lot that think you can't service your own car.

Basic tools + 200$ chinese ob2 tool to talk to the car......

Can afford the services but would rather not get raped because I am such a high iq sperg I cant figure out socket sizes and a ratchet

Buying expensive (40k+) cars before you have genuine wealth is retarded. Extremely low IQ. Using cars to get pussy is a perfect storm of being beta and retarded

A ton of people like this in Sydney especially in the last few years. Leveraged out the ass on their home and cars and depending on 2 x high incomes to maintain it. There are only so many bentleys and R8s you can see parked on the street before you start to wonder how any of it works

Run a small flooring company with my dad. We've got about 10 dudes on payroll.
Got a big break a couple years ago doing apartment complexes. We work well and we work fast. The guy we work with is hella rich and he's building apartment complexes around the country year round.

>Is someone driving a 90k+ car here?
No but 72k a few months ago.
>What does it feel like
Does feel better than the 45k car it replaced, but diminishing returns for sure. The 45k car replaced a beater with no heat or radio, that was awesome and long overdue. It would probably take a supercar to top that feeling.

Currently feels pointless, nowhere to go during quarantine.
>and how did you get where you at?
Business doing well. Lower than average personal bills. Zero debt, excluding car lease. Could have paid cash if I felt like it.
