So /biz/, do you expect the cruise ship industry to exist after this pandemic ends?

>> No.18589489

Yes
This is all short-term, people will want cruises next year

>> No.18589498

we gotta bail out the je- i mean cruise line industry that have been registered illegally to avoid safety inspections and taxation

are people going to want to go on vacation and get drunk and fuck on boats when this ends?

Cruise ships will die with the boomers. Nobody under 60 goes on cruises.

>> No.18589705

>>18589512
Yeah I guess retirement homes will die out with boomers as well right

>> No.18589724

>>18589705
Actually yes, because by the time we're old there will be robots with AI that can fully take care of us.

Me personally? No, but I don't think society will recover. If you got deep pockets then go ahead and invest in one of them if you want to, but only one you know will survive because some companies might go belly up then the shareholders will be fucked. If you only have a little money you'd be better off investing in a gun, ammo and shit that will get you through this economic depression.

You clearly dont know anything about the cruise industry

Floridanon here. I think they'll survive. You should see the mouth breathers getting on those things. As soon as they see some $299 weekend vacation deal they'll sign up and the race will begin for the last chocolate strawberry.

The lawsuits from getting the coof will cost them, but the Saudis are putting money into Carnival for example.

Yes, there is still a ton of demand for cruises, if in the short term any of the cruise lines go under, someone else will buy those ships and profit. People love cruising

>> No.18589954

cruise ships will be ownerless and drifting about at sea. eventually, they might be populated by breakaway civilizations that rise to power over generations and then go to conquer various rermote islands

This. What you goy- gentlemen fail to understand is we NEED the cruise industry to enrich our boomers and water

Cheap, easy, vacations for retarded poor people.

Cruises wont make a come back until 2060-2080 when the world stops using VR as an escape, and collectively want to see the world again. In the mean time the earth will restore itself, and many ports will be overgrown and lush as they once were. Cruising will only be done from afar as to never again disturb the balance of nature because you'll be fed "peace and love" through a headset. We're literally going to enter the U.C. gundam universe, but with flight robots like in Outlaw Star. It's going to be retarded. You will have a Space Force. Again, it's going to be retarded.

yes, the oil companies need to store oil somewhere.

Very true! But they have too much pride to let their diversifications fail. They own a lot of hotels too, they'll keep them afloat.

Maybe it's just me but I've always thought cruises were tacky and gay.

That said, I went to Bimini on a "college cruise" for spring break last year and it was the best time I've ever had.

Yeah good point, but that hardly makes me want to throw my money in. They can survive much greater losses than I can

>> No.18590462

Me neither. I mean maybe a small position, but I'm mostly interested in just buying into my funds at lower prices for the next 3-12 months.
