There is a 15% premium for physical gold right now vs the paper price; which is what you'd get if you tried to re-sell your physical to a shop. This premium exists because paper gold is traded on 100oz and 400oz contracts, and the refiners that smelt these big bars down into retail sizes are partially closed and are generally slow to react to retail premium. This is why the paper market is somewhat disconnected from the physical retail market. Eventually this premium should disappear.

It can connect to data sources that have been processed by AI and machine learning but Chainlink itself built using AI. Maybe in the future, it could integrate AI algorithms for other off chain functionality but not now. This sounds like semantics, but you're spreading misinformation and with money involved, people's life savings involved, you have to get this right.

Part of what will drive Chainlink's value is the ubiquity of "oracle mining" or just running an oracle node. Chainlink oracles currently aren't computationally intensive which means nodes could be run on phones or Raspberry Pis. When you introduce AI and Machine Learning algorithms, it could very well speed up the magnitude which would slow down the oracle's overall response rate (especially if it's not running high specs computer) which could make the oracle less reliable.

So if you're going to drop buzzwords all over, do it right.

This does and doesn't make sense. It's not going to stop the eventual implosion of the USA anyway.

The USA identified Africa as the largest economic threat. Russia identified it as an economic and political threat. The target was SA. The two have been playing games for decades there. China views it as a pot of gold and wheat with slave labour. All this is well documented.

The USA is never going to war against SA. NEVER. It's not because it might be bad for US interested... but everything to do with the fact if the USA actually gets involved dropping bombs that you can bet Russia will be there... France will be there... Germany will be there... hell even Romania will be there. And they will not be fighting with the USA. And I can guarantee you this will lead to the total destruction of the population through most of Africa as the goal will be to drag this war out for as long as the USA has bullets. China and the USA will not be able to repopulate Africa and Europe will take over. USA can't BTFO Europe. Europe has enough nuclear weapons to do to Earth what happened to Mars.

Petrodollar is a meme. If it were the driving force behind dollar dominance, countries would be exchanging dollars equivalent to their annual oil consumption, plus or minus some percentage to account for growth. But instead you see almost every country, including countries who hate the US, stockpiling dollars. Why would they do this and give the US even more power?

The answer is: They do it to capture larger shares of the US consumer market, at the expense of domestic American producers.

The US has fewer troops abroad at any point in the past 60 years. We're leaving, in part because y'all are whiny fucks about everything, but mostly because the US doesn't need anything you guys provide anymore. Trump concluded trade negotiations with 5/6 of the members that constitute most of the US' intercontinental trade, and I suspect his second term is him pulling the rug out from under Xi, Merkel, and the planet at large.

Interesting theory, but probably wrong. Even as a goldbug, the value of a currency is derived from more than just its backing by some commodity.

Currency as an artifact of government is never fully separate from the nation or its laws. Hence why China is not going to have the reserve currency: nobody fucking trusts them or their "legal" system, and the govt is one or two pissed off PLA generals from a coup at any given time. Their own short-sighted greed ensures they will never have the confidence of the world.

If SA goes for gold it would definitely strengthen their currency, but SA is still not going to be a good country to bet on for similar reasons. Their politics will ensure their country remains a bad place to do business and their government, being African, will remain always on the edge of a coup.

Unironically the only thing that would save America is if they had the balls to keep pumping to -120 USD.

Here's the thing about modern monetary theory, it doesn't actually matter whether oil is at -40 or +40, both levels require the same amount of USD to settle a contract.

0 dollar oil is scary because it means no USD is tied up in settling contracts, which means hyperinflation comes next.

-120 oil would actually be great for America though, it would tie up plenty of USD in contracts at a time when they need the market to be demanding USD liquidity so the fed can keep printing. +120 would be nicer but all that matters is the absolute value of USD tied up in oil contracts, the price of the contracts themselves are secondary as far as the big boys are concerned.

There is no difference between consumption and production... amirite?! Someone has to consume and someone has to produce. What you are fucking up because you are probably 12yo is that the producer pays the consumer. I mean, there are effectively heavy subsidies of the consumer by the producers because of meaningless money but this takes it to a new level. Also, not everyone thinks giving stuff to mouth breathers for effectively close to zero or negative is a good thing. You know, like the whole of Europe.

Worrying about physical production and consumption is beneath the people pulling the levers. They're trying to balance a very simple (dollars demanded by market = dollars were allowed to print) equation, if they have to martyr one commodity sector to get that job done they consider it well worth it.
