chainlink is an erc20 token native to eth, transactions are settled on the etherum blockchain, your jobs cost link tokens and are paid in link tokens. ON THE ETHEREUM BLOCKCHAIN
if eth dies what happens to your erc 20 token? when serg has to migrate to a new chain
you will need to sign up to get your new chainlink tokens in a new wallet and somehow prove ownership of your dead token
and your whole oragle system is totally DEAD while this is occuring

Define “needed.” Nothing is necessarily “needed” but if it can provide improvement than it will do well dumbass. Uber and Lyft aren’t technically “needed” since we have cabs, Airbnb isn’t “needed” for the consumer since we have hotels, but the formers are drastic improvements. Again, look at the FUCKING white paper and use the small amount of brain power you have to consider the potential of oracles, LINK, and ETH. Risk/Reward is fucking stupidly astronomical.

When it comes to these projects you have to understand that fundamentals don’t operate the same way as existing businesses. You are asking very good questions for someone in the non super tech area. I unironically commend that, but tech operates differently, and reputation would be preserved in the event of a blockchain/token swap because it would barely affect the business side usage.

As for staking, I’m knowledgeable enough to WANT to respond to this, but not knowledgeable enough to know I’m right when doing so. Maybe another LINK anon can provide details, or maybe you’re right. Don’t know desu!
