Doctors code everything as wuflu. They have two wuflu death codes, one means "really, actually and definitely died of wuflu" the other means "meh we don't know but we're going to assume wuflu." Almost all of them are the latter, CDC came out and said "just code everything wuflu if you're not sure" and due to perverse incentives that's exactly what's happening. All flu deaths are being credited to wuflu, all pneumonia deaths, etc. If you're still trading on last week's understanding prepare to get raped in the market. That is all.

WFH is definitly here to stay.

Look at the emissions in the cities right now.
Countries where companies didn't stop and just the offices switched to home working.
No more rush hour, even with the police stoping every car to check motive of travel, the traffic jams were minimal.

I believe that in cities like Paris, Madrid, Rome, Lisbon, WFH will be mandatory to reduce traffic emissions, mass transit expenses.

Also, corporate flights will be cut alot now that companies implemented videoconference technology.

For sure the aviation industry will never recover from this one, the tourism will have to rise above pre-corona levels to compensate the lost corporate travel.

Why are you decrepit boomers wasting your energy and scare amount of time on this Earth collecting fiat and throwing it into companies in an attempt to gain more useless fiat?
The US government can snap their fingers and print theoretically an infinite amount of more Monopoly money. Why do you morons continue to delude yourselves and stay hopeful over a fractional reserve banking scam, growing more debt and then counterfeiting their own currency through quantitative easing. Do you think an inflationary economy can grow forever without bursting? Do you believe debt can just climb up forever?

And guess what, you have absolutely zero say in any of it. The feds will gladly allow your mother, your wife, you daughter to die so long as they can keep fiat alive. Pathetic. But no, muh crypto is the real scam because I’m scared of volatility or something, so instead I’ll just stick with my SPY puts.

in all seriousness, because i have a coworker who is balls deep in the penny stock game: why not just do the same thing but with legit companies instead of penny stocks? how about a $10 stock where you just go $0.10 up and down instead of a $1 where you go $0.01 up and down? you keep doing that with penny stocks which are often shitty companies with low floats and rarely traded that much on a daily basis, and require huge position sizes to make any money, and you're going to get absolutely raped by slippage.

literally just trade AMD, a well known and respected company that's usually around the $50 range, and has millions of shares traded every day? the ATR is usually only around $0.10, you could do the same fucking shit but have a much higher likelihood of success with likely no slippage at all because the spread is kept to the absolute minimum. penny stocks, because of how cheap they are and often how low the volume is, are extremely easy for wealthy people to manipulate, and generally don't trend well at all because volume is needed for a stock to trend instead of chopping around.

why do it with penny stocks where everything is against you? you could do the same thing but with a more expensive stock, make the same money, but put those things in your favor instead of against you. the need for high risk that some of you people have absolutely baffles me, this is a game about high probabilities, you should always be trying to make your edge better and better.

I imagine most people with an auto will do everything they can to keep up with payments as it's highly impractical to commute in most places without one. Their charge-offs aren't awful either, sub-1%, so little in the way of losses. They were trading at $30 down to $13, I (retardedly) forecast good gains over the week.

global gdp will contract to -3% which is the worst result since the great depression. If the pandemic fades in the second half of 2020 there's a 5.8% growth in global economy activities forecast thanks to the gvt policies and the normalization of the activity. Emerging markets are going to be in debt up the ass and will suffer way more that the advanced economies because they don't have the required assets to create relief funds and stimulus packages. They also forecast that we will recover from the march loss by Q4 2021. In a nutshell, according to the IMF, the dip is over. From here it's just a slow upward trend that's going to continue until the end of 2021.

I think most economic projections are indicating that Q2 will be the worst, with Q3 being slightly better and a slow, gradual grind back up to previous economic activity levels near the end of 2021/going into 2022.

It'll take time for us to see the long term damage caused by the shocks we have seen so far, but it's not the end of the world. There's no doubt that sectors like travel and tourism, entertainment, etc. are going to get hit a lot harder, and there is still the possibility for systemic disruptions if things like unemployment and prolonged income loss extend for too long and begin to effect things like defaults/foreclosures/etc.. Certainly, the number of SMBs that will go under will have an impact, too. There is a lot of economic uncertainty right now, and as the negative economic data comes out, it will rattle people who are in the markets now. They will likely take profits, and we'll probably see a gradual decline to a new equities market bottom until we get positive clarity regarding the economic output.

That loss of income and productivity will be a drag on the economy, in addition to the many sector disruptions, and thus on markets. Big crash? Maybe, probably not, unless extreme greed/FOMO is coupled with extreme short-term fear of losing profits with this rally we're going through. But, another grind down throughout Q2 until we have more positive looking data? Historically, that looks more likely.

Everything is super short sighted right now. We don't just transition to normal overnight. Unemployment will remain at ATH for a long time while the economy scales back up. Businesses are going to have to meter the social impacts of these policies over short and long term.

That's the businesses that haven't defaulted already. SBA didn't work well, and it's difficult to assume the next package will work any better for actual small businesses. Supply chain disruption and demand flux is going to cause some unpredictability. We'll see a wave of deleveraging that is hitherto unseen, more than likely unexpectedly.

Example:
We might see an initiation of WFH snowballing, reducing oil demand permanently, and massively reducing consumer transport demand, which is going to drag financiers, auto mfgs., and oil down with it. All of these are pillars of their given communities, meaning they're going to disrupt local economies and displace workers while economically crippling the locale.

>Small businesses are on life support by the stimulus packages.
Some are, many aren't. Pay attention to what's going on. The initial $350B was used within a week. There are technicalities with the banks that are delaying getting funding out to businesses that need it, and some businesses won't qualify at all. Other funds have been allocated in the exact opposite intent of the emergency funding, to local branches of larger chain businesses. On top of that, some businesses won't see it as viable to remain open on life support given current market conditions. They won't make a profit. They'll have to close unless they want to risk going into more debt. There are a lot of uncertainties right now, and there is a lot of risk for sustained economic damage to continue throughout this year. Zombie companies are certainly a problem, but we're talking even smaller, more local, and broader than that.

That's been my worst-case scenario. We're just at the point where we can see what's coming in front of us, but it's difficult to tell what's going to ultimately hit us.

I think some sector disruptions, e.g., airlines, are going to be long-lasting, but I'm not so sure others, e.g., wide-spread WFH adoption and knock-on effects, as being permanent. There are certainly a lot of benefits to WFH, but humans are social creatures, which may ultimately bring us back into the offices once we feel safe to do so. At least people whose commutes aren't 2+ hours a day. I can imagine those folks adopting WFH permanently, if allowed to do so.

The reduction in discretionary spending, travel/tourism/hospitality, and entertainment spending will all likely have similar unquestionable effects that are a little easier to predict.
