I already matried one. You still have to get a temp residency for 3 years, then you get permanent residency and you have to live there the entire duration. To travel out of Russia you need a single entry exit visa each time.

Comparatively, with a multi entry private visa you can go / coom whenever you want but can only stay for up to 6 months at a time.

Gonna jump in that a friend of mine had a hard on for the Russian language and wanted to go there.

Studied and ended up going over to teach English. The company he went through put him in a rural Eastern town. Said that it wasn't what he expected as he hoped to be in SPb or Moscow. Everybody seemed angry and sad, plus weed was dangerous to have as you needed to pay off the cops if they caught you. Broke his contract and flew out of there after several months.
