At a cursory look, I think CARR could be a good stock to buy. I did a quick net present value analysis based on some numbers I pulled off Morningstar. I'm assuming that the stock is trading at approximately 6.6 times free cash flow and that free cash flow will grow at a rate of just 1% annually. The break-even point with the inputs I used was after 9 years. In addition, I'm thinking that it could be trading at a discount currently, so a good jump in the return could come just from the stock beginning to trade at a higher multiple (once more analysts jump on board for instance). For comparison, Trane (TT) is trades at more than 10 times free cash flow currently (also based on Morningstar data).
