Hello fellow Chads. Today we celebrate our investments & our buys in the dips.
They told us oil is dead. Nope. We will come back stronger than ever.
Oil is the future.
Baby yoda says death to commies

so as a pleb with 5k and no idea what to buy.
why do you say oil and what do i buy?

>> No.18522637

>>18522001
>why oil?
heavy discount right now because of low demand from covid-19 and high supply from U.S. shale. oil is still incredibly energy efficient so it’s not going away for the foreseeable future

>what should I buy?
ez mode: buy the supermajors (XOM, CVX, SLB, HAL, etc.). I would avoid OXY (the debt they took on from buying anadarko is probably too much to bear)
hard mode: research the financial statements of the U.S. shale independents and buy those you think can survive the downturn. lenders are tired of waiting for returns so they aren’t lending more. the companies need to pay the debt. so buy companies you think can pay off their debt at $30 oil for the next year and $40 oil the year after

fair enough, Icahn is doing what he can to save the ship in the short term. in the long term vicki colossally fucked up beyond repair imo

>>18522676
depends on how long you want to hold. if you don’t mind waiting 2-3 years I would say yes, buy oil. $500 in XOM, $500 in CVX. they have strong Permian positions and manageable debt. with only $1000 I would skip the service companies but if you want to invest in them too I would invest in SLB. they have a strong international portfolio which is performing better and they have a leg up on digitalizing the oilfield (automation) which will be huge. but again, this is not a quick turnaround profit. you’re going to have to be patient and not panic sell

>> No.18523264

I'm retarded, why is XOM going up when oil prices are going down? Thank you.

Yes
MRO has a meeting Monday morning to release earning reports
Their stock will probably go down
Like I said, anything $4 or lower is a really really good deal.
But honestly, you could buy right now & still make a long term profit
But it just won’t be as good as $4 or lower

why do retards use robinhood? is fidelity that hard to work with because you need a PC?
also, do you think we'll see another dump when Q2 rolls around and corona-chan is still suffocating boomers?

I tried to go with M1 finance but they spent 2 weeks trying to verify my bank account, while a lot of stock prices were at their all time lows & it totally caused me to miss out on profit
Robinhood took about 12-15 hours to verify my bank account
Also I have a blue collared job, not a white collared job, I don’t get to sit in an office with a computer
M1 finance has an app, but like I said, they didn’t even verify my bank account

Fidelity has a phone app too. I guarantee that RobinHood will get swamped one day and lock up when you want to buy /sell. Also, build a damn safety net for 6+ months of money before you waste time with stonks

Enjoy paying for rollover fees and storage fees for your shitty barrels of oil, no one needs.

Buying oil now only makes sense if you can store it somewhere physically for months.

No need to thank me.

I think it's just word of mouth. I use Fidelity myself but in my blue collar world I meet a lot of Robin Hood users. Between the two of them I wish they would open the way to trading with cryptocurrency.
