Your old coins reminded me of this story - When I was a little kid it was possible to buy silver and gold coins at the local market. There would normally be 2 or 3 stalls with older guys there selling their collection or turning over their finds that they didn't really want. I'd also been to other markets further away occasionally and I'd see an old coin dude there selling too. It was during a period of time I was 8-12 years old. When I went to old country towns in any antique shop there would always be coins for sale – aged silver and gold coins where plentiful. Then I didn't go to the market for a decade as I lost interest in my teenage years. On arriving back after all that time I didn't find any old coin dudes anymore. I thought it strange. I had this idea in my head that an old coin dude was as natural as the fruit seller. How times change :(

China has been leasing gold for a long time... they have been draining vaults for a long time. They convert it in Switzerland. I mean, if I only had to pay 1-3% to have phyz I'd slowly drain the vaults too. you'd have to be fucking stupid not to. The Wizards of the West really fucked up something major here. That gold is never coming back and it will take decades to re-stockpile for actual mining for gold and not as a byproduct. Any gold remaining is going into CB vaults. Also, faggots forget most silver production is mostly a byproduct of other base metal mining and without that need of massive base metals... silver production falls precariously. Everyone goes on about silver being an industrial metal. Well... this experience in the last month tells you something super important about silver and that is... that it is supreme money. Industrial production has fallen off a cliff and there is no silver to be found only at what we currently think are crazy premiums – all bought by relatively few people that have NO INTENTION of letting it find its way into a solar cell or iPhone. When push comes to shove and the money becomes hardened weather governments want it or note silver and gold are clear winners. Of course this will fuck most Westerners lives up but that's a story for another time. This Wu Flu just happened at the right time to be a cover story for why there is no phyz. Why did Germany say no gatherings at least till end of August? Something crazy is going on.

TLDR:

Gold is virtually out of stock everywhere.
Knifes edge away from countries ceasing export of their own golds.

2020 platinum eagles went on sale today..TODAY

Mint also shut down till who knows when.

Platinum is half price of gold...when its historically been more.

Suspect mint is shitting down due to "corona" as excuse to halt production until spot price catches up to reality.

2020 platinum eagle may go down in history as the undervalued coin sold for a single day before great depression ver

I just want to tell people here, that the best investment you can make right now other than silver is chickens, pigs, ducks, cows, a passive solar house a colour laser printer with a lot of cartridges and tens of thousands of pages of paper and personal protection. I never thought I'd recommend something like that but I just did. Can you imagine when a box of A4 paper suddenly costs twice as much as it did the week before... and then after another month is costs twice again? And then all of a sudden it's not always in stock and again at a higher price. And you can't buy a printer anymore in a year or two? Eggs are going to cost $1 each or more. This is not a joke. We have entered the final bull run of collapse and I'd be OK if it was going to be over in a year but this shit is going to be extend and pretend as long as possible. Gold first, metals in general. land also when people cant pay their rent to the state as "landowners". kinda regret not going heavier into gold but for the last decade at least there's been a boot on the throat of silver. idk if anyone remembers the week of Brexit but silver spiked to over $20usd and then dropped when the powers that be put the brakes on that political rape train

Yeah me too but i think it doesn't apply on those bars because they have a face value stamped on them (you can see it if you zoom in the bars' pics), making it a "megacoin", not sure tho, but i ordered 3 weeks ago 2 x5kg bars and i payed 15.40€/oz, just 1 bux above spot, so it's not possible the VAT was priced in, also no tax line on the order.

This all consuming monetary abyss will consume us. Oh my sweet darlings the irony hath unfoldeth that we thought the better part of ourselves would keep check this greed. *inhales slowly* smoky yes, with sweet and sticky overtones. It is but a foreshadow of things to come my frail companion of skin and bone, an echo if you will, of the past coming forth anew into a crescendo of both loud screams and most joyous celebration. Deemed as chaos to some, but to others, yes, a new order summons thee.

Alas brother, now the pores ooze blood. Once the property of plebs their pulp is too ripe it festers on dry soil. Be it as may such secondary benefactors and opportunists shall like insects lay eggs in such conditions. They are but droplets accumulating, similar in nature to this concurrent virus you see. It is but mountain dew on a blade of grass on a luscious hilltop, the latter and former will form into a droplet, the droplet ventures to into a stream, a stream to a river and finally a river into the sea. As a fine wine must hibernate till maturity to be fully justified as to be classified as 'fine' so to drink it prematurely brings only bitterness and a sour taste to the unfortunate participants concerned. Following this train of thought the same principle must also apply here. These hosts bleed fallen on barren lands where we plant our seeds of silver and gold, with enough patience the nutrients shall become sufficient for such seeds to grow. There on the horizon the sun beckons thee! Like becoming a flaming phoenix in an early morn we shall rise hitherto and promulgate this great cycle once more.

I bid thee adieu a second to last time on the last bell toll of this age.

Adieu

I don't think you should be looking to stack in this moment. You should be looking at everyday items that have a real worth and are especially undervalued and perhaps something imported (like literally everything). Guys, we are going to enter a situation for many that you will have money but nothing to do with it... nothing to buy or little variety to buy from. You might find yourself buying bags and bags of oranges simply because there is nothing much worth buying in the less than super market. If you think this doesn't or will not happen... look at how people lived in central and eastern Europe for a few decades. Holy fuck a bag of oranges was amazing. People in the West though they were poor because they had no money and this is wrong – people had plenty of money but nothing to do with it. I knew people with millions of dollars from illegally selling oil and they filled every draw and closet with cash and they couldn't do jack shit with it. Some people had kg's of silver and gold and couldn't even get coffee. The real economy is imploding and trade is officially down more than 25%. I'll tell you a secret... it's going down at least another 25% and it's going to stay there or slowly slide even further down. There is going to be scarcity. A4 white paper might end up being as good as cash. The only way we will know if this happens is how long this economic destruction goes on for. I think Economic activity will be even worse once Wu Flu has passed. Then we will know if there will be a war and more importantly what type and where. I think at this moment civil fighting is likely but how many War Lords do you know in your neighborhood? Zero. Point being there is still time to prepare.

"Harry Dent" (ie. Harvey Dent) - he's only telling the half of the story symbolically.

Gold "crashing down to $750" means everything else will also deflationary collapse. Your $ purchasing power will also significantly decrease. It doesn't really matter which way it goes - just look at the fed's balance sheet and the money supply.

Flip the coin - heads you live, tails you die.

Even Mike Maloney talked about "once last big pullback before gold and silver really break out" in his last video, but unlike Maloney, Dent thinks that deflation will be permanent. No hyperinflation. He thinks that inflation in the modern monetary system is impossible. So in his opinion, gold will stay down along with everything else and the dollar will be the winner.

I disagree deflation will be what busts this whole cycle but it will be short, I’m talking matter of one maybe two quarters. During this bust the fed will triple(minimum) the balance sheet to try to stop things, they’ll just keep printing. 2020s will be all about inflation.

I think that, in Dent's opinion, gold might crash a little less than stocks, real estate, etc. I. e. gold might crash by 60%, but stocks and real estate might crash by 90%. So gold will relatively win. But he seems to think that the dollar will be able to buy everything once this is all over--that that will retain 100% of its purchasing power.

Schiff and Maloney on the other hand are predicting that the U. S. will end up like Venezuela with a perpetually rising stock market and real-estate prices simply because the government is endlessly inflating the currency and buying the economy. If that happens, then the dollar will become worthless. Which side is right, I don't know.

Then there will be a deflationary bust tanking the market something like 80% but during this time the fed will have virtually unlimited power to print and they WILL use it. They are directly buying everything not bolted down now to keep prices up. When they print infinite dollars they are not going to increase in purchasing power. Everyone holding cash could just sit on the sidelines during the deflation and swoop in like bandit kings. (((They))) wont let that happen. You all forget the push for cashless banking and negative rates to punish savers? This plane is most likely going to crash into the mountain

Dent would say that the PM drops both in 2008 and this year were not simply because of margin-calls, but because investors feared, at first, that we were going into a Great Depression, which is deflationary. When they subsequently decided that the crash wasn't going to be so bad they switched back to gold, which is a hedge against inflation. He believes that when they realize that the second Great Depression really is here, and that it is here to stay, they will run out of gold again and it will crash down catastrophically.

>> No.18500588

I can guarantee the anons here that the lower gold goes the better the long term prospect. And, gold will go lower. Sub $1000 is practically a shoo-in. So, hitting $950 is bullish... hitting $750 is even more bullish and at that point I would actually back up the truck (if I can actually get my hands on it). I'm not talking out of my backside here. If you want to make the trade sell gold and silver now. Wait for that dip then get back in. There are two highs on the horizon... 2022/3 and 2032. Selling into a parabolic market isn't that great and you have to sell phyz early if you want to be confident of cashing out. However, doing that risks physical access and ultimately, if your cost average is low due to good entry points and your physical amount isn't that large it might not be worth the risk for that dollar profit. It's a personal call though. I assume most of us here have only a fraction of our wealth in PM's and not 90%. So, PM's are the doom metal of our time and at some point in our lifetime we will have that opportunity to exchange it for something like land... lots of land, forests, farms, machinery, a house, some apartments or maybe a factory etc. We may only get one opportunity... maybe two but that's it. This isn't a get rich scheme and most of us actually work for a living and aren't in the business of 'getting rich.' On the other hand if you are a whale and you can hold indefinitely and it does nothing to you it's a good inter-generational wealth transfer if you educate your children.

I understand where he is coming from but I think this crash is going to be inflationary. Bad bad stagflation.

Look at the reaction already, massive money printing. This wasn't possible during the great depression and happened later in '09. Banks are going to be flooded with capital seeking yields. Normal people will be hit with the deflationary forces the hardest but we are already getting airdropped helicopter money.

Also consider this from the angle of goods. Food shortages, shortages of imported goods, and tariffs are all inflationary.

The biggest argument for deflation is bad loans, people unable to pay mortgages, people unable to pay rent, declining real estate value. But the fed has demonstrated absolute willingness to buy bad debt, keep insolvent companies alive, drop interest rates, and keep the firehouse of money going.

Platinum price seems to be more driven by industrial use (catalytic converters) and that use seems to be declining long term as cars electrify. Silver at least has use in solar cells and things, but I don't see a long term upside for Platinum.

For a window of time it's possible. It also depends on what sort of stack you have. I suspect a lot of this will actually be delivery of phyz to banks unironically and not happy families selling because they like the sheen of gold and silver. Banks would be smart to absorb gold and silver from all those nasty stackers out there in exchange for non-performing repossessions which there will be many of (land will probably be the most amazing buy). It's the only way banks are going to be able to reliquefy. This is the best exit strategy when you've got toilet paper money income (or not even toilet paper income) and heaps of physical assets on the books. Remember, banks are actually banks and don't want your shit, they want their money back. Wealth funds or whatever you want to call them are going to go into the toilet as their debts are ultimately to banks.

The central prediction is based on this theory that the dollar will go much much higher in 1-2 years. Its been almost 2yrs since he made this prediction and the dollar is basically flat. We also have been lowering rates (he predicted multiple rate hikes), blowing up a key part of his theory. The rate differentials are not significant enough to push already heavily invested nations to even more US investment. It's not as if nations were not already US heavy. The delusion here is amazing. Do you understand what "store of wealth" means" It means that the amount of real assets you can buy with an amount of metal stays about the same.

In other words, if you think you can "buy a factory", then how many ounces of gold do you need to buy a factory now? That will be the amount of gold you'll need to buy a factory in the future.

Purchasing power of a "store of wealth" is supposed to remain the same no matter the circumstances. That's what makes it a "store".

>>18505901
>Arguably gold and other stores of wealth become more valuable in absolute terms during times of inflation and uncertainty

A "store of wealth" like Gold receives its value from the fact that the supply and demand is somewhat independent of the underlying currency. Whether it's a US dollar or a Liberian dollar, it takes a certain amount of labor to extract an ounce of gold from the earth and a certain amount of labor to afford the refined product.

Meanwhile, the main demand of Gold (Jewelry is 50% of demand) is not very dependent on the economy either. Inflation affects both sides equally: higher wages make it more expensive to mine gold, but also increase the ability to buy at higher prices.

There's no fundamental reason why prices of precious metals should exceed that of inflation. If they do, then that's because of speculation, which is fine but not a store of wealth. Just ask anyone who bought Silver at a spot price of $55 in April 2011.

Depends... did you buy government silver that people are paying high premiums for today? You might be able to offload them for that today.

Or did you buy generic rounds? Lower premium at the time but more difficult to unload. You might need to wait some more.

Look at trying to sell them. Right now you can sell ASEs to an online dealer for $4.50 over spot, while those germanias are only getting about $1.50 over spot. ASEs are more expensive but you get that back.

ASEs are much more liquid too, so if selling them one day is in the cards then I'd go for those.
