>Doctors are 500,000$ in debt from school and most never pay it off
>Most factories end up losing money
>Grocery Stores operate on super thin margins or actually lose money

i guess nobody really does. i studied cs and work as a developer in the field of healthcare in europe. it seems the only reason my boss and the company exist is to keep people busy. every year come new regulations and laws that require urgent actions and delaying real development. the productivity in european economies stagnates for decades. real innovation is shipped from other countries like usa, china, partial russia and then we circle jerk and wageslave around to fullfill regulatory demand.
the productivity stagnates, the fake demand is met, real demand can only be met by imports and most exports we do are some machines for producing stuff we'll import. globalisation was a mistake because we destroyed our productivity. take ffp3 masks for example. not a complex product, no super rare and fancy resources needed. but we struggle to produce them. europe instrustries are out of work, we have a high demand for a product with the complexity of a tampon and are unable to meet it. no wonder people freak out about toilet paper. they intiutively know about it.

It stagnates for 16 years. Not decades. A few years going into 2008, things were stagnant from the 2 cycles ago. The 2008 can was kicked in an experiment that resulted in zombie companies that outlasted their business models and new oligarchies that managed to grow and become efficient in those business models. Governments have reorganized to promote stasis through bureaucracy to prevent discomfort for people that have had up to 20 years (4-5 cycles) to buy them as an institution.

This. OP is exaggerating a bit, but a substantial amount of our economic reality is an illusion. It's a system of control to keep the peasantry from revolting. All those call center jobs, all those paper shufflers and professional emailers, all those office drones, they're basically white person welfare. Blacks and other minorities get "free money" basically to sit on their stoops and rap, but white people have too much integrity or something so we invent a bunch of meaningless jobs that absolutely have no purpose and we give them to white people and ambitious black people and hand them out their welfare that way. At the end of the day the vast majority of the country are working the equivalent of the "security" job you give to your deadbeat relative because you feel bad for them, but it's better than them being on street or doing drugs.

>Doctors
The rich get richer in that field and those that know what's up with that market still willingly enter that field, it's a fuckery of cronyism and credentilism

>Most factories end up losing money
What does this mean? Yes, American manufacturing is rough when the Chinese have successfully subsidized their ability to export anything. It is on an upward path and IP protection probably matters more.

>Grocery stores operate on super thin margins
It's always been that game, the focus is on turnover among other strategies like 'just in time' supplies to reduce spoilage and shelf space square footage per product category

>Amazon has never made a profit
Cash flow, turn over, and AWS/FBA profit margin drivers

this is one of the reasons i'm planning to move to the US, Europe just isn't an important player anymore, i feel like it's just the most broken economy imaginable just so they can prop up the pension system and feed all these old pensioners. europe's average age is absolutely through the roof, birth rates are non-existant, you have a north-south divide that STILL hasn't gone away (i'm greek so i know this very well)
it just doesn't seem like it's worth my time

True. I am the finance director for a medium sized city and we can go through these layoffs and be basically just as effective. Actually, if unions and public sector laws let me lay off old incompetent or disgruntled Boomers, I could cut staff and taxes 10-20% and make things work better.

I have a staff of 7 under me and honestly me and my one senior analyst could do it all if we had too. But I like off-loading easy shit so I can shitpost. Plus I am told by the Mayor not to do layoffs during good times so I just kept staffing where it was. I had one good intern two summers ago who did more than a bad hire I got saddled with has in the past 2.5 years.

Side note, through my time in state, local, and federal management I have seen probably tens of millions in annual payroll spent to do clerical and basic analytical work that five people with work ethic and actual knowledge of Excel, SQL, and R could do on their own.

There is billions spent on Boomer admin positions a year. I get Zoomers with brand new finance degrees who not only can't model data on their own, but can't even do basic formulas in any analysis package and so can't do any real work.

Wow you're right. This is why I come here because where else can you get this insight. The people doing the most meaningful work are mostly blue collar, construction laborers, plumbers, electricians, welders, farmers, people involved with delivery of goods, healthcare workers, engineers, mechanics, and factory workers among others. A lot of these areas have high automation and productivity thanks to technological gains. Much of it is also managed automatically with computers. But at the same time many jobs like you said are "filler" jobs. Also there is a lot of inefficiency with jobs that exist for no other reason than to patch a hole in the system. This creates a huge burden on the part of society that keeps everything going. Why couldn't we just clean the job space up by repurposing people in filler jobs to reinforce the meaningful jobs. Demand could go negative but work hours could be cut and productivity can go up. Especially with an aging population. I just think with all this manpower and technology we could be doing a lot more.

Look at the Rust Belt bending over for Trump for the promise of more coal jobs and factory jobs. Due to technological gains we will never get manufacturing and coal fossil fuel jobs back but retards refuse to accept that so here we are.

Amazon not making profits stopped a few years ago. They just don't make that much profit compared to revenues.

They aren't a dividend stocks so they use every trick to reduce "profit," and tax liability.

Actually a good thing. Lots of other companies did retarded shit like debt funded dividends.
