Brainlet Here.
I've recently got my ledger Nano X
I've already got my bitcoin on it and am looking to add my alt coins. You're only given one 24 word private key. Is this supposed to work only on bitcoin or can i also use it on MEW to recover my ERC20 tokens? I would've assumed the would be seperate keys.

thanks frens

you load multiple "apps" each one enable a different coin. all wallets are controlled by the same 24 word phrase.
hate to break this to you tho friend.....ledger gets your xpub so they can track every single thing about you from that point forward (how much you spend, how much you have ,etc).

It all works for every app you download into the ledge.

I have a nano X as well. If you lose ur keys you can just recover them with another ledger or some special software.

I recommend a. Cheap nano s as a backup.

And ya that same key works to recover everything even coins you have yet to add.

I have btc Eth and Zcash on mine

That's cool Fren but they litteraly know nothing more then anyone else looking at the Etherscan because they do not know who actually owns that wallet.

You got the bitcoin ledger, you need another ledger for each coin as it's locked to that coin/wallet after sending funds. Now you know why so few here use a ledger, bit of a hassle tbdesu.

I've just split my keys into 2 parts in 2 secure locations. But the back up is a good idea. Didn't realise you could import old keys into a new ledger. I'll do that for sure. thanks anon

You need to use a password if you keep a shitload on ur ledger.

People with l33t hacking skills can hack ledgers and trezors. This can reveal the key on the device. Also someone could find your key.

If you use the password extra feature with the ledger then it works like this.

It creates a new temporary key that is a combination of the key currently on the ledger and the password. This keeps anyone who finds your private key or hacks ur ledger from getting the funds.

Its pretty useful because I can remember a password but not a insanely long key phrase.

It works for every App,
Kindly note that $TRY is one of the Altcoin you should not miss for anythin as TRIAS transparency allows the sharing of the revenue that is created from the sales of its Dapp Triasforce to its community as a whole.

Post your 24 word seed here and I'll tell you if it's valid for altcoins as well. You can tell based on which letter the 3rd, 5th and 9th words start with which coins you can use it with.

wrong.
1. they know your address they shipped unit to
2. they know the serial number of unit they shipped you
3. they know your ip address so can follow you whereever

trust me. people with far higher iq's than you have looked into hardware wallets and determined that at best they are a meme at worst a total opsec disaster.
