i think its behaving rationally. perfectly following the classic market cycle. More new money goes into the bull trap than the initial run up.

I'm down 25% on my S&P500 short. When do I cut losses and accept I'm a failure?

God I hate Economics. The majority of the field is full of dogmatic bullshit spouters.

Well then, relative to the dollar, the "real" price isn't actually increasing. Which is even more funny.

I wouldn't bet on that. Corona is highly mutagenic and it's been proven that a person can get infected more than once. Meaning if they create a vaccine it'll only be good against one strain. With any luck, it's like the common cold so there will be dozens or hundreds of strains by the time they make a vaccine for one of them. But the market will only go up

whatever man, people are not going to remain locked down through summer. Or the rest of their lives. If anything we learn to wash our hands more and wear a mask when around other people

I never ever shorted or margin traded and Im not planning to but can sb explain some stuff to me just for knowledges sake? what does getting liquidated exactly mean? when your collateral is 0 vs the borrowed money+interest? or when it is some certain percentage and you lost like 80% of your collateral? then you get liquidated and have 20% left? or is it all gone when liquidated? thanks

Yes but evolution would dictate that any virus mutations would make the virus less lethal than before. If a virus kills its host it will be eradicated before too long, one way or the other.

Checked, but that's only true if the virus kills quickly.
Long asymptomatic period of infectivity throws all of this out of the window.
