Landlord here
I had to let go of my staff today, I may not be able to evict my tenants yet, but I'm sure they'll enjoy losing water, power, internet, maintenance and trash pickup

Don't you have a rainy day fund for this kind of thing?

>> No.18460832

If you're a renter worried about not being able to pay rent, here's some advice: just rely on your savings. Tap into that rainy day fund. Borrow money off your parents. Sell your iPhone. You really should have planned ahead for something like this.

It's not too late to go back to school to learn a trade, either. Apply yourself. Print some resumes and hand them out.

>b-but we're gonna have a revolution
No you're not. Pay your rent.
>>18460554
They do that without trying under normal circumstances because most tenants are borderline retarded. There's insurance for that.
>>18460686
1. Many landlords do have savings for this because depending on tenants for anything is beyond stupid.
2. It's irrelevant. You should pay what you agreed to pay so long as your landlord is providing everything they agreed to.

You could also make it harder for your tenants to pay rent. Like add an unnecessary bit of complicated software that they pay through. Then when they can't pay you should sue them for withholding rent when this whole corona blows over.

>Trash pickup
We have community dumpsters with locks, that are going to remain locked for the time being
>Water
Pump on site, I pay for the water to the site, pump is shut off until further notice
>Internet
We wire internet to the building office, I have a guy who wires the apartments to the internet, and provide routers, so I unplug uncooperative renters
>power
Same story, power is ran to a centeral box, we can shut it off for individual units
