Anyone here pay for posts on forums/communities etc? Is it effective? How do you find people to do this, and who are of sufficient intelligence to make believable, natural sounding posts referencing a business or service of some kind?

That really depends on what you're selling or how you plan to monetize it. For services, yes. For traffic monetization (ad arbitrage etc) very. For products, no.

Finding freelance writers worth their salt is difficult, but its the exact same as content writing. Just find people willing to learn for a good price.

I remember when I got $75 from an anon to help an anon to pass a KYC, he was American and they didn't accept American IDs, so he used mine.
$75 Was a lot for me back then and it's still a considerable amount today.
/biz/ has changed my life for the better.
