Inflation is dependent not only on money supply, but on the amount of transactions in the economy. In the current situation, people are not spending their money either because they are uncertain of the future and they want to save, or simply because they cannot physically go outside and buy something in a store. Normally the prices of everyday goods would go up with this amount of money printing we are witnessing right now, but lowering the economic activity on a massive scale has deflationary effect that compensates the inflation caused by brrrr.
One of the only commodities that does not depend on people going outside to trade it are stocks, and this explains the recent gains of the stock market - the rally you are witnessing, and may be witnessing over the next days and weeks is just an effect of inflation.

I am excited af to finally see something like -400 again, but real talk it still needs to go down a lot more. We need some limit down please, come on, are they just waiting for earning reports to come out tomorrow morning to really start the sell-off?

And to bulls, the oil deal was priced in. In fact, it was less than the proposed deal initially. So that means the strike was bad news. Corona is flattening, but worldwide curves show it isn't U-shaped as most pandemics are in terms of recovery even if we start recovering now, meaning unknown shut down length and unknown weeks of continual infections at these levels. Find Italy's chart for reference since asian countries are lying their ass off. Flattening is priced in, time length isn't.

Yes. The federal reserve so smugly dismissed concerns of Austrians and other legitimate economists because, according to the CPI, "QE doesn't really cause inflation". They neglect to mention that consumer goods aren't the only things that can inflate. Look at the stock market from 2016 - now. All inflation.

Interesting. I am a bit of a brainlet so can't understand it fully. Basically volatility is high so to trade there has to be greater margin requirements meaning money has to be pulled out to meet those requirements? Would make sense if so. Also means it is going to create downward momentum and spiral it down more. Nice.

>> No.18429269

There's something about this Virus. I'm not sure anyone has actually recovered immune. I think the virus just dips at the sight of antibodies, or when faced with substantially altered conditions (Why we're seeing results from zinc and anti-malarials and meme drugs). It's not gone though, merely hiding. It's why tests are always showing low antibodies and people are getting "reinfected", the virus has designed itself to disallow for biological protection mechanisms to enact themselves.

Currently bearish on Mammalian life.

Entirely possible that it will have lasting effects. What if it has spontaneous flare-ups like Herpes simplex viruses and human papillomaviruses? What if it has long term dangers like varicella zoster virus (chicken pox)? What if it increases risk of cancers like HPV?

What if heart and lung functions fail to return to normal as some studies suggest?

The virus that causes hepatitis B can sow the seeds of liver cancer years later. And in the months after the West African Ebola epidemic subsided in 2016, the virus responsible for that illness was found to have taken up residence in the vitreous fluid of some of its victims’ eyes, causing blindness or vision impairment in 40% of those affected.

> In infections involving the coronavirus that cause severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS), about one-third of recovered patients had lung impairment after three years, but those symptoms had largely cleared 15 years later. And researchers found that one-third of patients who suffered Middle East respiratory syndrome (MERS) had scarring of the lungs — fibrosis — that was probably permanent.

I assume you are one of those 'QE doesn't do anything' people? The cut buys time, price will settle in to a general range from here and will move pending storage capacity hit or corona chan tapering off/quarantine measures starting to lift. It's very shortsighted to think demand will stay this low for even a few months in the future, let alone rest of the year. Investors/traders are well aware of that and will be looking to secure positions around these levels to hold for future. That is the stability the cut brings.

>> No.18430025

In this time of retarded baseless optimism let me present you with a couple of facts that made me believe the economy could potentially tank.
>1) Any agreement made in regards to oil manufacturing and oil prices is pretty much theater at this point. Airlines are grounded, cruislines turned into death ships, and people are sitting at home not using their cars. Chinese factories are closed because nobody is ordering shit from europe and murica.
>2) China nearly completely halted their production for a month, and america is currently locked down for over 2 weeks.
>3) The fact that the american government went as far as to say that there is no limit of money they won't throw at the markets to save them is a double edged sword. If the markets start going down even after such assurance. we will inevitably see crazy ammounts of panic. The government can't realistically stop the market from crashing.
My assertion is this, the global economy has been mortally wounded, FED applied painkillers and adrenaline, economy got up ignoring the wounds, and will soon fall again because of them. FUCK BULLS, FUCK JANNIES.
