I was considering on purchasing some crypto from Coinbase. Should i move my bitcoin to a different wallet during the Halfing? Or will the bitcoin be safe on Coinbase.

Coinbase/Kraken is probably the safest place for your Bitcoin. Most people will tell you not to keep crypto on an exchange in case they get hacked, not your keys not your crypto, etc.

But if you have to ask this question, you are probably not to be trusted securing your own keys anyways. Keep it on the exchange if you are worried, probably safer than keeping cash in a bank account. This does not apply for any non-US exchanges that are sketchy as fuck.

But really you should keep it off the exchange once you know the risks and proper protocol. It's safe for now.

Halvening means that the reward for block creation will give half of the reward in Bitcoin for miners as previous, the amount of Bitcoin you have does not halve.
Don't keep anything in a custodial wallet (like on an exchange) that you aren't willing to lose, look at what happened to MTGOX.
