In a this global memevirus situation, both gold and silver are going up, I can literally guarantee it. How much no one knows, but they will moon. Here's your plan. Go for the most recognisable coins in your country. So stacking silver eagles will be a good bet as everyone knows what they look like and their value. Their value being the silver content plus the authenticity of the coin. Raw silver in grain or just bars will give you the silver price and it is a bit harder to sell unless you go to a dealer.

While doing this buy gold in quantities you can afford. So this can be quarter ounce or smaller. You can also get platinum too as it is very low now.

Monthly stacking can be something like 10 silver ounce coins, quarter ounce gold coin, and eighth ounce platinum coin.

Remember just get coins that everyone recognises. Kugerands, Maples, Philharmonics, Britannias, and Eagles.

Thanks, yeah I was really considering buying an ounce of gold back in 2015/2016 to try have about 20% gold/80% silver (Mike Maloney and others suggest this typically). Now gold has run up nicely so I sort of wish for a dip but it doesn't seem like it'll come. I live in Canada and the dollar has dropped so much since I first started buying silver that I've always made money on it year after year. The CAD was 0.90 on the USD when I first started buying now its like 0.68 so my silver has gone up automatically from the conversion. Our government just keeps printing it like crazy.

Premiums aren’t an issue. Premiums aren’t even real. I think silver was at around 19$ 2 years ago when things were normal so your basically getting an ASE now for the same price with the world upside down.

I hate all these factors complaining about dealers thinking they are getting ripped off and don’t understand supply and demand.

Also, the American Gold Eagle is 22 karat gold while the Maple Leafs and Philharmonics are 24 karat (0.9999 fine) coins. You're welcome. There are reasons for buying American coins if you're a US citizen.

1. American coins are legal tender. If, for whatever reason, gold and silver become utterly worthless, a Gold Eagle is still worth $50 and a Silver Eagle is still worth $1. I believe merchants would be required by law to accept payment in those coins at those denominations. Even if merchants don't cooperate, I would imagine you could use them to buy money orders at the USPS at their face value ($50 and $1).

2. I know that that AGEs and ASEs can be held in an IRA (tax-advantaged). I'm not sure if any other form of gold or silver is eligible to be held in an IRA. For Americans looking to invest in gold and silver in a tax-advantaged account without using a paper instrument such as PHYS or GLD, AGEs and ASEs may be the only way to go.

2. I am of the opinion the American coins are the most beautiful of all the sovereign coins. I suspect that is in part due to the high pressure minting process the US Mint uses. If you like the designs, AGEs, ASEs, and Gold Buffaloes are the only coins that have those designs. Rounds using the designs use lower pressure strikes and lack the fine detail of products from the US Mint.

I wouldn't recommend it because it cost $40 or so dollars to get the coin graded. Also, being encased in plastic is a guarantee to a buyer that the coin is authentic. I believe the major coin grading agencies (PCGS is the big one, NGC is an easier grader as I understand it) guarantee authenticity of the coin. If you leave the coin in the plastic and somehow it is determined that the coin is a counterfeit, NGC will pay out the actual price of the real coin.

In general, you shouldn't handle proof coins if possible. If you have to, should should wear gloves. You typical pay a premium for proof coins because they use special planchets and get their own dies to create the best-looking coin possible. If you really want to fondle a coin, get the bullion coins.

If it dumps then minerals won't be that useful. Minerals are good for the hyperinflation. Even though I've got about 100k worth of gold I'd still prefer the deflation as it's less frightening.

i dont worry about too much. cuz even for mint BU, they still wont sell for but a hair over spot if not actually graded and even then, not worth the trouble.
some years back i had full set of all years of Gem BU ASEs i took and sold to a big coin/jewelry/ bullion dealer during the peak. i still came out ahead but they didnt pay more than a few cents over spot.
so condition means little to me for most of my collection rn.
if i end up with some monster box stacks someday, i prob leave most of em unopened, untouched. my little stack i got now is for playing with

they didn't for me. but i only ever sold bullion that one time so idk. i tried to haggle a bit cause i thought my full set of all years was special. they didn't care at all. it was spot price take it or leave it.

half my silver now is in bars for that reason. ASEs are beautiful and well recognized all that like everyone says. but its still just bullion so I'm making at least half my bullion puschases in bars from now on. money i save on lower premiums goes right back i to buying more bullion

I have only ever seen people say get official mint coins from countries instead of bars because of its resale value. I only have ASE's right now and will be purchasing another 140 later in the day but I can go and get almost 200 oz in bars for the same money instead. I guess going 50/50 on bars and coins was something I should have been doing all along. I want to do 90% silver and 10% gold with money spent on PM's too but havent started. Half in Buffalos and half in AGE's but now might go bars too. Jeez.

Also the second it becomes unprofitable to space mine silver they'll stop doing it, until growth and higher demand for silver makes it profitable again. Silver will never be made cheaper than the cost of mining, by mining, and mining anything in space is set to be pretty pricey

no i think there is a good chance your silver could eventually become horribly tarnished. even turn black eventually, depending.
that's something I'm prepared to accept for my fondling collection. hell maybe ill clean them in one of those ultrasonic liquid bath jewelry cleaners, it wouldn't hurt anything as far as im concerned.
but for the the rest of it. I'd hate to reach into to my vault 10 years from now and have all my coins tarnished black because i didn't use coin capsules

Not at those prices if you are in the Bay Area. The local LCS I use in the area has silver for cheaper. If you want Brittanias though, that does seem like a better price than what is online.
