Well I am working on a strategy to go mostly into dividend paying blue-chip stocks with a few other perhaps not so sure things on the side, still dividend paying.
And then on the very side put into some stuff that I expect to grow..some right a way..some within a couple of months or years. All of the gains from the non-dividend stocks go into playing more of this game.

My idea is to snowball up. At the very least cover a few bills. In that way, that frees up the money per year I would spend on such things from my paycheck itself, which of course would give me more money to continue to grow this plan. From this, I would gain a passive income towards being truly independent of an employer.
It's also not all in on one dividend paying stock. It's diverse and getting more diversified. This makes investment lopsided in some ways now but as this snowball continues it will average itself out to something nicely.
To me, being beyond defeat is to be independent of an employer's paycheck to survive.
A version of UBI paid for by the companies I put direct investment into.

There is a valid reason to start building a position in RTX, and it's not because they pay a fucking dividend. The merger completed at a bad time for their non-defense business. They have much more cyclical and aerospace exposure, and we're at a point in the business cycle where those cyclical stocks will do very poorly. And the demand for commercial air travel will NEVER be the same, now that telecommuting has been forced on people so even the boomers are seeing the benefits.

Eventually, the business cycle will bottom, and RTX should preform well then.

Anything long-term for dividends i'm putting in over time. I still have a normal job. RTX will be part of the diversifying portion. I have a few things I got in cheap for experiments sake..if they blow up when we get out of this recession then all the better.
Another thing, like AMD, is just because I expect it to get high after this recession and people start buying up again..with the shit kicking they've been giving intel I expect for them to hit maybe up to $70 within the next year.

I'm watching some others too...strategy to put bonus cash from my job into experiments and a certain portion of my regular check into building the longer term positions. And of course dividends will be reinvested as well. No reason not to. This current dip is making this all possible.

Venezuela might work better as a nation building project because at the very least the people of Venezeula share in the western christian cultural traditions to some extent. That can go a long way in making meaningful changes towards a more prosperous nation.
The U.S. really has nothing to lose by building up south american countries economically especially to be used as resource trade partners. A stronger overall western hemisphere is beneficial to the U.S. in the long run and is a better deterrent against communism/socialism.

People have no idea how bullish these cuts are because nobody really knows anything about oil history because it is boring lol

Before in history OPEC allowed 2.5 million barrels of oil to be cut back from production and this was enough to double the price in a year. Now OPEC is doing 15! Obviously, this isn't proven by deeds and the demand for oil is so low its scary but
It should be noted that 2.5 million barrels was enough to drive the price up to 100 from a similar level in 2015.

My theory is that the world is desperate for the economy to come back, once it does, it will be the greatest single economic orgasm of all time. Think everyones family in the USA rushes to meet each other. Travel will be literally booked solid, SOLD OUT plane flights throughout summer. Also cars will be all over roads sucking up cheap fuel.

China will fire up their industrial to 120% to catch up to orders and demand for their products. 24/7 shifts and also Europe will experience the same insane gridlock on travel.

Oil and gas companies are going to be critical so the travel can happen. Also battered airlines could also skyrocket so also own some of those before Memorial Day.

My theory is that the equillibrium will go back to where it was before the crisis. Demand curve will shift back to where it was, supply curve will remain around the same. Over time though I think Demand for oil will shrink as humans move more toward renewable energy sources

I've been jumping in and out of ARI and DOW since they bottomed. I've made 35% doing this.

With the Fed coming in this week, many say its not going to turn back. But looking at still not opening up the economy until 5/30 I don't see how it doesn't pull back some. Also aren't there some big money traders also up from the lows and would be advantageous for them to sell before earnings and buy again at new lows?

Trying to time getting back in has me worried at these levels.
