bitcoin is the opposite of gold it requires work to remain secure.
gold requires outrageous amounts of work to be made to change.

that is why the title of the whitepaper is Bitcoin: A peer to peer electronic cash system

btc is literally a ponzi scheme. bsv is bitcoin

>bsv is bitcoin
bsv and bitcoin cash (and most of other form of digital money, if not all of them) are a pile of SHIT.
The term shitcoin is appropriate.
Also, gold is good, but it should be UNWORKED gold (is that the term? Or unminted? Whatever, you get what i'm talking about. Gold taken out from the ground directly).

What difference do you see between bitcoin and paper gold?
Also, considering governments are working to make their own memecoins, what value does bc still hold?

gold does not change with time

meanwhile btc is no longer peer to peer cash
no longer a chain of digital signatures
no longer can a payee check the chain of digital signatures
no longer possible to verify payments without running a full node

>What difference do you see between bitcoin and paper gold?
I can't say directly.
I think that the people who understand this shit are dangerous and will probably kill my family if i say this shit out loud (or even in written form).
So i can only give you hints, cause i shit myself at the very concept of them.
In a sense, it's even better this way: if i give you the answer, you gain nothing, but if you hunt for it, you ll really understand it, and it will be precious to you.
Also, it's a way to prove your worth, in a way.
You could never get this. The question is: are you deserving? You show that to yourself.
Still, here i go:
>Why is 999,9 in written in gold bars?
You go figure it out.
It's not difficult, and i didn't really say anything to you.
Piece of advice: if you DO figure this shit out, don't go say it around too much, okay?
Just, you know.. To be safe.

True.

>meanwhile btc is no longer peer to peer cash
Isn't it? Why do you think that?

>no longer a chain of digital signatures
Again, why?

>no longer possible to verify payments without running a full node
Okay, this i know not to be true.

>tfw i learn to uderstand abstract concepts
you're still not that there though. You I bet you still recite the mantra
>a currency holds value only because WE believe it does

Why does money hold value?
>because we believe it does!
Yes, but also no. We believe it has value, because we believe in the entity that originally deemed it to have value. In the case of $ - the US government. The US government declared those pieces of green paper are of value in their world, therefore we all see them as of value in our eyes.

With bitcoin, you proudly declare
>IT'S DECENTRALIZED, BRO
Essentially, that means there's no authority behind it to give it value. So the faith isn't based on any actual point of authority/wealth. it might work, it might fail in times of economic trouble. It's most assuradly less reliable than CENTRALIZED currencies, which are as strong as their base (which is always a government in our world)

Picture related.

>you're still not that there though
No. I actually can "immagine" the situation, you know?
But hey, if someone got a mantra trained and true for generation, it's not bad.
Well, it wouldn't be, if we weren't in a different reality now.
But in the end the old wise words always comes true.
Distortions have a time limit.
Still, i was at that stage too, man.

>a currency holds value only because WE believe it does
>Why does money hold value?
Wait, wut? That's a non sequitor..

>because we believe in the entity that originally deemed it to have value
That's true to a deeper, instinctual level (or for those who understand this shit), but for the vast majority of people it's not like that.
They put value in the onject.
And that is no different that the mantra, as you called it.
For example, Peter Shiff uses that mantra. I saw that when he was debating the dollar milkshake theory with the dude.
He was clearly Dogmatic.
But who knows who has the truth? I think fiat will still be important, but not for the milkshake theory for example.
or i might br wrong. Depends on those what those who holds the monopolies think.
But that, is only a piece of the puzzle.

>With bitcoin, you proudly declare
>>IT'S DECENTRALIZED, BRO
>no authority behind it to give it value
>So the faith isn't based on any actual point of authority/wealth
The importance of bitcoin goes beyond that, as you might understand (since you appear to understand some of this).

To be fair, what's priceless about bitcoin, is not bitcoin in itself, but what the tecnology ENABLES you to do.
Sure, the fact that is accepted is a GREAT piece of the puzzle.
But you are misisng the "keystone" .
The people could abbandon it tomorrow, and stop using it cause the color is shit.
That wouldn't eliminate the legit priceless value of the tech.
The fact that it was probably done by mistake is also one reason to admite the tech, and human ingenuity, which, once again, shows us that it's legit supreme, and capable of creating anything.
Of igniting any fire, so to speak.

Lmao. This guy legit thinks having a 28 digit alphanumeric password to move numbers around a ledger is more valuable than literal gold, something created from nuclear fusion gajillions of years ago in a dead star that somehow wound up in a dustcloud that became the Earth.

>> No.18391382

those alphanumeric keys are only useful so long as anyone wants them.

Whether anyone wants them is completely dependent on how resistant the network is to double spend, which is completely dependent on tons of hashpower coming from chip manufactures.

Sounds real fuckin trustless.

Bitcoin and gold/silver are completely different.

Bitcoin has no other use besides as a means of exchange. Gold is valued as a material with which to make jewelry, and silver is used for the same and also has many applications in technology, medicine, and to make household items like luxury utensils.
