I try to gamble on businesses that are cash rich for downturns, and are major leaders in their field. Oil is that type of resource where it will maintain its value for a good long term hold. Besides, this $600 she set aside with the expectation it is gambling and worth the risk of losing.

My point is, if I could make my friends happier, wealthier, and sexier, I would. If you're in the US and on the West Coast, meaning any of the Silicon Valley firms in CA or Intel in OR, probably likely. My guess is that it would be on a rolling basis as they start bringing engineering teams back online and ramp up from there. If you've got a fab, like Intel does in OR, you should have/they've already gone remote. If you're out in Boise with Micron, then I doubt you guys ever had much to worry about in the first place.

Semi is a costly business compared to most, and requires large volume, high margins, or both. I doubt they can stay down for too long, particularly if you're with a smaller semi firm.

Common sense says this is gonna be a problem for at least a year. Schools are going to be closed for at least through the summer, so are non essential jobs, impossible to prevent a second wave, we will just see a slow reintroduction to keep caseload manageable. The worst thing for trump would be a second wave during election season, therefore I think either an opening during june and july to get a second wave through with the hope of herd immunity, although schools will be closed and activity will still be dampened because who the fuck wants to catch this virus. Or we just see a lockdown around election time to correlate with cooler temps and a second/third wave.

Life does have to move on at some point, and taking calculated risks is necessary. The longer-term opportunity cost increases the longer people are out of work, I think.
