I try to gamble on businesses that are cash rich for downturns, and are major leaders in their field. Oil is that type of resource where it will maintain its value for a good long term hold. Besides, this $600 she set aside with the expectation it is gambling and worth the risk of losing.

My point is, if I could make my friends happier, wealthier, and sexier, I would. If I know that this downturn in the economy will drastically cut prices for safer and more reliable investments of oil companies like XOM, CVX, and RSD.A that have made a stupid amount of gain since their lowest on the 17th-18th of March. There is more to gain! I will buy more if it drops even lower, the potentail gains from it is worth the risk!

Also, US won’t agree to cut anything at G20. At best, Russia and Saudi Arabia keep their word on the 6m. After this deal breaking down today people going long into oil are delusional. Should of just took your profits today. Prices rising to reflect production cuts? The market already is way overpriced for oil! I can get 4 dollar fucking barrels, the market is delusional for the speculative price to be over 23 still. Everyone is going to get crushed going long now. Maybe if you went long during March lows you would be okay, but now? Prepare for the biggest red dildo of your lives as reality begins to set in. Things only go up because the Fed is taking literally daily action multiple times a day to prop it up. The day when the market ignores the fed and plunges is the day the true crash begins as it is ignored and all the printed money becomes worthless.

Can't wait to see daily announcements of 10 trillion more printed into the market. I already took my bear beatings and made up for them thanks to glorious RTX, my shorts didn't end much worse today than yesterday. Prepare your anuses for Monday, all of you. Okay guys I think I made enough money in the mud pit, I don't wanna play any more. I am up 15% and had to get pretty dirty. Thursday 4/9: EOD volume moving into short ETFs.

Who knows what happens next week given the unprecedented circumstances, but we just hit a 50% retracement in less than half a month with very poor short-term (next few months) economic fundamentals. The average bear market is a -35% from the ATH, lasts 150-200 days, and has several periods of oscillatory down and upward movements with rapid loss/retracement before capitulation occurs.

Anything is a gamble with current market conditions, but at least there's more certainty on the horizon compared to all of the uncertainty we had last month. Down or up, that's still a plus for long term investors who want to DAC on any future dips and build up their retirement accounts.

>>18381625
It's my opinion that "infinite QE" on the Fed's part is not going to trickle down to Main Street, nor are the stimulus bill and improved unemployment benefits going to be enough for most Americans, given our median household salary is $60k-ish and most Americans live with large debts that need to be paid. The pent-up demand take doesn't take that into account, I think. That said, unemployment has been government-mandated in this case, which is what's causing one of the economic problems. It might be very possible that it's a leading indicator here, not a lagging one.

If you're in the US and on the West Coast, meaning any of the Silicon Valley firms in CA or Intel in OR, probably likely. My guess is that it would be on a rolling basis as they start bringing engineering teams back online and ramp up from there. If you've got a fab, like Intel does in OR, you should have/they've already gone remote. If you're out in Boise with Micron, then I doubt you guys ever had much to worry about in the first place.

Semi is a costly business compared to most, and requires large volume, high margins, or both. I doubt they can stay down for too long, particularly if you're with a smaller semi firm.

Common sense says this is gonna be a problem for at least a year. Schools are going to be closed for at least through the summer, so are non essential jobs, impossible to prevent a second wave, we will just see a slow reintroduction to keep caseload manageable. The worst thing for trump would be a second wave during election season, therefore I think either an opening during june and july to get a second wave through with the hope of herd immunity, although schools will be closed and activity will still be dampened because who the fuck wants to catch this virus. Or we just see a lockdown around election time to correlate with cooler temps and a second/third wave.

I'd be willing to wager there's a lot more long-term risk (apart from a pure economics standpoint) if businesses stay shut too long. Life does have to move on at some point, and taking calculated risks is necessary. The longer-term opportunity cost increases the longer people are out of work, I think. And that's for the employee, not the employer. The business costs are obvious and more upfront.
