18333583 No.18333583 [Reply] [Original]

the last BTC halving started the slow burn at $650 on 9 July 2016 and pumped all the way $19000 in mid December of 2017 for people to dump for capital gains right before the new year.

If we go by this same projection now, at $7000 pre-halving, where do you think we'll be by next December? 70K? 125K? 250k?

And more importantly, have you prospected on the alt-coins that will be millionaire makers this time around like XRP, Verge, and Reddcoin.

180k before trumpbux
360k is the target now due to the monetary base expansion.

Hell if they keep this gibs for 6 months we will surpass gold marketcap.

Some twitter brain made a VERY astute observation about BTC price post halvening.

The statement went something like, "It has taken $40million worth of new money per day entering the market to keep the price of BTC above $6000, what do you think will happen when supply of newly created BTC gets slashed by half?

Makes a good point to my monkey brain.

a 2x price jump with FOMO and relative price speculation relative to the corona tanking stock market could really send the price sky high. And honestly the whales won't dump until we get close to December 2021 because of the need to HODL for capital gains tax, so this could make for a very interesting bull run out the gates. Probably similar to the 2013 cycle where there was a peak and mini-crash in the spring after the halving and then a massive spike up afterwards going into winter.

Well since it’ll have more scarcity than gold so long as we don’t keep losing it... and people are dumb so they’ll fomo a bunch ... and crypto has no upkeep or friction costs... I’d say 250k local maximum ez. But of course exchanges will crash for 3 hours in both ends of that price

the next halving destroys mining profitability, so institutional holders will have to pick up the slack. that's hugely expensive. There is also no incentive to keep tx speed faster than necessary, and I see BTC inverting with a basket of alts.
>monero for privacy/DNM
>xrp for swaps, ODL, large cross border tx and some limited use for external remittances, also capital flight may take place via xrp if Coronachan topples some European economies
>stellar for small scale remittances
>ETH and Link(until eth implements link's functionality into the main code) for smart contracts
market cap of these will increase more than cap of BTC will decrease, as they will get more people using them for their intended uses.

All I care about is (risk) diversification. I want to be exposed to literally anything, anywhere that trades liquidly and is fungible.
