The answer

Linktards are the ones in denial.
Vitalik is actually smart and knew about the oracle problem way before Sergay even was into it. But he acknowledged that its an actual Computer Science Problem that is impossible to implement in the real world without lot of sacrifices and work arounds. And Vitalik had actual principles besides money and therefore didnt went the route to spend his next years in something that he knew is basically born dead on arrival.

Besides, Vitalik a lot of people also think like this about the Oracle Problem. And then Sergay the philosophy major came around and saw that there will be money to make on this and jumped on the ship and attribute himself to it.
All sergay did, is to build a KYCed, pseudo decentralized, permissioned webscraper aggregator that takes the median of API calls that he prays to sell to some legacy players that have tech illiterate boomers. He knows his solution is shit. This is the fact of chainlink today, but you got to give it to him he actually made chainlink an industry standard indeed with subtle meme magic and pretty genius marketing targeting autists. This was sufficient enough for him already. But again how much can you weigh this in? A ''industry'' constitueing of shitcoin PnD pajeets and chink 100X leverage casinos, being a industry standard there is nothing I would show off anywhere

>> No.18295193

Vitalik is the smartest human being in crypto bar Satoshi who is no longer in existence.

Doubting and questioning things he says is a huge brainlet mistake. That does NOT mean you can't make money off of Chainlink, but it does mean we all need to be weary about when to sell.

Money Skelly is arguing a different paradigm. In his mind Link is not a solution, and, there probably is none possible.

his vision is a system that only relies on computing power and trust-less systems. That includes getting the data into a smart contract completely independent of any human activity and aggregation.
Link is decentralized and does the job fine, but to Vitalik, it is not an internal piece of an enclosed system, so it is not genuine to his vision. His vision would be Ethereum getting the data itself somehow from the outside, while maintaining its fully trust-able without any other guiding influences - impossible.

Link however, does exactly what it needs to. It simple relies on incentives, and manually feeding it data for its own network then to decide what is true or false. It works fine and enough to make a functional billion industry possible but to Vitalik, because its not "pure" in his sense of blockchain solution, he shuns it.

You buffoon you think blockchains have zero human component to have the network run in the first place?

>> No.18297064

>>18296845
augur is a steaming pile of shit which is not reliable for getting outside data into a contract in a business like transaction. Why? because it tries to be par tof this "pure" closed ecosystem Vitalik envisions, which is frankly impossible to have useful oracles in. Thats why he shilled it. Augur was fundamentally compatible with his purism on blockchain even though it was not really a working solution(and the reason why it wasnt)

>> No.18297092

>>18296962

Powering it up and mining it, and coding a smart contract are not the same as having to manually influence what is coded into the blockchain.
Thats what vitalik wants. No human interference with determining the truth. The closed blockchain system decides itself, which is impossible to have real functioning usable oracles via. you end up with shit like augur.

Link takes a few extra steps to ensure validity of its information, which in Vitaliks eyes is not a pure cryptographic solution which deals with oracles even if it is secure as it needs to be and as decentralised, hence why he shuns it. He only wants a cryptographic solution to the oracle problem where non solely exist.
