Looks like I lost my normal source of income. Now I'm thinking of new ways to make money in the up coming depression. I have access to an empty apartment. its not in great shape & doesn't have a functioning bathroom but there is electricity & a sink with running water.

thinking about setting up a grow room there. anyone done this?
>how much will it cost to set up with all necessary equipment?
>how difficult is it to grow cannabis?
>in a small room with 3-4 plants, how much could I expect to make?

a small apt you should be able to fit couple hundred plants in there.

1st) you need good starts (plant starts of good strain)
2nd) you need a good recipe and schedule for water/fertilizer intervals, mixes, timing, etc
3rd) you need a proper schedule for lighting, on/off on timer, etc.
4th) you need proper ventilation, with fans, input and exhaust ports

5th) dont do this where its against the law

thanks that's helpful. unfortunately I'm in the EU so it is not going to be legal. I thought about hemp / CBD cannabis which might be less risky. I only want to grow a few plants to start.

well if you can, you should at least try to have 2 or 3 more than you think you really want. because its almost guaranteed that one or two could get sick and die or just be lame stunts or whatever. (not making a corona joke here)
usually you lose a couple for whatever reason

Little chamber around 600 bucks
Pretty easy, being effizient takes around a year or 5-7 grows depending on your iq and study willingness
The vegi Phase and the genetic determines the yield. A 2 month vegi Phase under 600watt lamp, good strain on coco Substrat and automated Daily watering will yield around 600g. Good grower make on soil around 1g per Watt, on coco Substrat up to 1,3g per Watt. A longer vegi Phase will yield substantially more yet costs more Power, 18 h light and needs more space.

Hydroponics requires some capital to grow properly. You'll need 2 different grow lights, pumps, nutes, hardware, PPM/PH meter and some flat white paint preferably. Then its easy if you arent retarded.

Friday I picked up some 1 1/2 PVC sweeping wyes and will be growing lettuce and micro-tomatoes. I have 6 wyes and will connect them to a 5 gallon bucket. Similar to pic related but scaled down.

shit that kind of ends it then cause the flat is on top floor of a block in a busy neighbourhood. how do people do it in cities? cause I've seen videos of people in the UK having grow rooms in terrace house. they must be able to hide the smell, cause only way other drug dealers could find them to rob was by looking for heat signatures or something. do it must be possible to hide it

Hydroponic will grow a bit faster and produce more. I am a geologist so I enjoy tinkering with a the PPM/PH etc. Hydro is cleaner if you a method. My towers have water pumped to the top and sprayed down onto the roots. I have made it a goal to not buy lettuce/vegies for 6 months and learn to can some of shit that would otherwise go to waste.

My mother grows outdoors as she has a remote farm. She puts in a lot of effort bringing plants in and out of the house. Moving them around. Treating for pests etc. She keeps between 6 and 12 plants. She also puts in a lot of effort curing and drying and processing it for storage. I think her yield is basically what she smokes throughout the year. She tests and treats soil pH, has a fertiliser routine, complains about mould and mildew a lot so she is working at a level higher than "just stick them in the ground and wait", but it still doesn't seem that straightforward to grow 'good' weed.

I'd enjoy it as a hobby for the challenge. I already grow food plants indoors under lights and I start seedlings indoors each year for growing in a greenhouse and a vegetable garden.

I don't smoke any more, but people I know who still do don't like shit weed. They don't like the effort of buying or consuming it. They only like really prime brand name buds which look like they came out of a cartoon or something. I imagine growing these to the required standard is a commitment in knowledge, time and outlay of equipment.

The business side of it? Phhh fuck that beyond selling amongst a group of lifelong friends or something. Even your dumb friends are going to talk about it too. Every bulk dealer I've met has been a touch on the scary side and interacts with scarier people.

If it was legal though, for a hobby with a little to close friends for fun I think I'd enjoy it.

Grow tent
Chinese LED panel
Build a frame
Sterile grow media
Ventilate the tent and maybe carbon to scrub the exhaust

Sort of shit you can DIY for a few hundred and have in the corner of a room for 6 plants. Love projects like that.

2k is plenty lol.
I started growing hydroponics in college. We grew some nice pot plants with maybe $400 investment but we used CFL lights, not HPS/MH grow lights.

PVC is cheap and there are litterally endless possibilites growing weed hydro. I would start with a 5 gallon bucket DWC technique. Get a beefy aerator in the bucket and LST the pot plat.

Inconsistencies in ph or Ec will fuck your planst up fast and bad, not recovereable in coco you drain with water and move on. A pump can malfunction, you cant see the rot system often times, look at forums and you will find the most problems with aquaponic systems.for Starters or professionels not first choice, although a lovely and great System nonetheless

all of that is pretty standard stuff and its really not that hard/complicated theres tons of grow guides on the internet. most growers are just lazy fucks who never read anything and try to make it up as they go along. the myth that its hard to grow dank weed comes from brainlets and growers who want to justify their high prices, this shit literally grows like weed. get some good genetics, give them what they need and take care to trim/dry/cure properly and youll have dank shit that will blow most of the commercial stuff out of the water. all of that applies to a small homegrow op obviously, its probably a different game when you run a huge warehouse or some shit that could be a lot of work.

I've worked with an industrial electrician who claims to have wired up a few large clandestine grow ops. He talks about it as if at that level money is not a problem and it is treated as any other professional install, but obviously with secrecy being important. He says every now and then he'll get a call to resolve a minor issue and it is always a fat green wad. He says the biggest thing he is hassled about is spider mites. As somebody who has overwintered plants indoors yes, you don't want spider mites in your closed environment, especially if plants are close because they reproduce really fast with the heat and they have no predators.

I know a couple of mushroom farmers and they do pretty well. It is a pretty serious operation though as in, a couple of barn sized buildings and agricultural sheds. They do lines for locals, restaurants and supermarkets, obviously not everybody wants high end mushrooms so you do some of everything. There are some sick videos on youtube of people doing it too if you check them out.
