Fair enough. Thing is almost nobody holds until expiration so it doesn't really matter what happens at that time. The trick is if you think the price will go up you buy calls then sell them when the underlying's target price has been reached. Same for puts. Like say SPY is right now at 248 and you think it's going to 260 by this time next month. You buy a call that expires after that and when SPY hits that 260 you sell. Doesn't matter if it happens tomorrow or next week, it hits your target and you sell. Don't calculate your options on the basis of perceived "value", figure out if the strike price is low enough to make it realistic and if the expiration date is far enough out to be realistic. So a SPY put for 150 that expires in 3 days is shit. But a SPY put for 230 that expires in a week might be great if you think that's realistic. Think of the option as leverage. Multiply the underlying price by the delta and divide that by the price of the option to get the effective leverage. If you like what you see then dig in. That's option trading

I definitely see it as a nice pickup, but I'm personally very bearish on consumer air demand for the next 3 years, look at how long it took delta to come back after the crash in 08, not to mention the virus. They will take on a lot of debt, keeping planes maintained costs a lot of money. New planes will not be ordered for a while, and seeing as Pratt and Collins will be 60%+ of RTX's revenue I see a further leg down before upside. In 10 years they will be higher, but lower on the next 6-12 months

As always, long BAM and NEE

Ding ding ding! How did everyone do this week? I'm down .95% today, not great not terrible. Had some holds perform disproportionately poorly, put spreads continue to perk up, caught the last 15 mins on volume profile with spxl, entered C small style for the bolly-bolly (keeping cash on hand for the double/triple down in necessary next week). All in all a fun enough day, if not truly exciting.

It's becoming more and more apparent that none of you guys actually know what you're talking about.

When markets tank right after opening then surge right before closing that just means bears are opening shorts early and closing them at the end of the session, in the end S&P was only down 1.5% today, the intraday swinging was nothing more than day traders making money and then leaving the market to secure their gains in cash. What you guys see as "fed pumps" and dumps are just day traders opening and closing intraday positions, long-term investors barely touched anything today hence the low volume yet again.

I'm finally starting to understand you guys are complete retards trying to do voodoo astrology shit to justify your positions after you take them, like gamblers.

We literally dumped like 35% in two fucking months kek'd. One thing to keep in mind is that we actually rejected the 200 MA when we retested it last week (which when we are under is considered to be bear market territory), so yes this might be the beginning of another drop, all you can do now is to see if we actually hold the low we made on indices and see what happens. After factoring in the exchange rate, that might be cheaper than American chicken. 2.2 lbs/kg means that it's about $(CAD)8.85 / lb. We know that CAD are worth, what, an American quarter, so that translates into about $2.41 USD / lb. That's probably less than what I would pay for boneless chicken breast at an American Costco.

what do they think they're gonna miss out on, by simply waiting until the fundamentals say airlines are recovering and flying again, and then when the trend shifts to up instead of down? literally why not just wait for that to happen instead of trying to guess a bottom and maybe the airlines go bankrupt because you don't fucking know the future?

tl;dr why buy thing that go down with bad fundamentals, why not wait for good fundamentals and for it to actually go up first?

At the end of the day you don't really know, there are many outcomes. Some are favorable to shareholders, some are not. Stock is down a lot compared to other airlines because there is high risk of total loss of shareholder equity. I've been doing DD myself, and I've personally come to the conclusion that the best returns are in smaller regional lines like Hawaiian Holdings and Alaska Airlines. They have better balance sheets, own terminals that aren't threatened by outside competitors from other countries, and focus on dominating a region. Some of them like Alaska, has been upping its game bidding on terminals in mainland US as well. Also in my experience they offer a better product. Just my opinions based on my research. I think it's a safer bet with almost as much returns. But I don't expect to enter that bet until a month or two from today.

Macron is a former banker, right? I wonder how he feels about all this, he probably understands it better than the other heads of state.

Almost nothing ever happens during OPEC meetings. It's mostly a farce where they make shit up that changes the price of oil and then do it half way.

either they keep everything locked down until a vaccine or they open the countries prematurely and lots of people are going to die.
Or they keep reopening and closing in which case you are essentialy waiting for the vaccine

you can place or remove orders before the market opens.
the market price is based on current bidding price and current asking price.

So if other people change their orders the market value changes even though there is no volume movement yet.

For people that use a real broker (not Robinhood) markets can be open 16 hours a day. But liquidity is low and you might get a bad bid-ask spread or nonsenical price action.

Meh, reinfection rate is probably less than we fear. The UK is talking about “immunity passports” once we get a test that can identify who has the antibodies.

That could lead to minimal casualties and allowing the most necessary sectors to return to work.

Well if we did an actual lockdown and eradicated the virus, and we quarantined everyone coming into the country for 15 days, we could go back without a vaccine.

But with our current plan of: Please respect the lockdown, but if you don't want to that's okay too. Even though it will SEVERELY extend the duration of lock down for everyone. That's a states individual right if they decide partying or going to hobby lobby is more important than national security and the world economy. Truly freedom is what makes us great.

I expect all crude to go up after the meeting, because the markets will take OPEC seriously when they shouldn't. OPEC will say some words that will not materialize and pump the the price temporarily. After that happens (if it does) I will short crude futures.
