I'm going to dental school this fall, however I'm hoping to work over the summer to earn some spending money.

My question is, should I tell an employer in advance that I will only be working for a relatively short time? Or if it is a basic entry level position is it fine for me to just fuck off and leave after several months?

Is there a general rule of thumb for this?

No act like you're going to be a lifer. Unless it's a good job that would have a valuable reference. However you can likely get a decent wage if you say youre looking for a career

No do not tell them, they are less likelly to hire you if you do, since theyd need to spend another couple of hours interviewing wagecucks when you leave

Yes,tell them.
Don't burn your bridges op, you never know what's in the future.
Maybe you'll fail at dentist school or realise that you hate dentistry.
