Serious question for those of you who seriously FUD Chainlink...if it really is just a JSON parser, web scraper, etc etc, why would names like Ari Juels, Even Cheng, or Ed Felton put their name and reputation behind it? Why would someone like Ari who has worked his whole life building up his insane H score jeopardize his name by backing a scam? Are you saying you’re smarter than Ari anon? Former head White House technology fully endorses Chainlink, is he wrong and you’re right anon? Putting all other FUD pieces aside, how can a fudder justify big name and important people jeopardizing their name on a so called “scam”. Winner just might get a few linkies from me

The fud is just an attempt to avoid the truth. Yes it's just a data scrapper, meant to pick values and then send them to someone who wants the information. The value is that its a:scalable, and b:secure. Rather than having the potential to receive false information, you have a collateral system that prevents bad actors from shutting everything up.
Consider the following. If a company such as Walmart installs link nodes at all of thier points of sale, then offers thier customers the ability to sell thier info for x price, walmart can use the information gathering to supply companies, in real time, information that is normally impossible to acquire. Combine that with the fact that companies will be purchasing the info these nodes are producing , such an event would lead to benifitsfor everyone, lower prices for customers, more income for retailers, better marketing info for producers, and much more dynamic and flexible supply chains due to the fact that all this information can be provided instantly.

Token is not needed, its a funding token, the technology and network could have been made without a token. Chainlink partners are usually Shell companies based in pages like Cayman Islands.
