unironically this. coronavirus is going to be the catalyst that moves our society into proper UBI and finally lets the masses in on all of the profit being generated by automated processes via machines and AI. this event is actually good, it has made it clear that many people can work from home and don't need to come in to a workplace to be productive, that people can meet through internet services and communicate just fine, maybe even better than fine, electronically or over the phone. we are now aware of the actually significant/"essential" workers who need to be there in person, but they aren't a gigantic part of the work force/require a lot of people to manage, so it's fine for them to continue working.

this is only the beginning of a new age, it's gonna be fucking grand.
