I did not even get a corona test done they tested me for regular flu first and because it was positive for influenza type A they refused to actually test me for corona. On top of all that they prescribed me nothing and told me to go home and rest and take a tylenol. I got the bill today for $6000. Great, so you still wind up paying full price with your own funds anyway. I went to the ER one time to get stitches in my thumb (urgent care was closed) and it cost $1400 out of pocket. All that money I had out into the HSA, gone.
Since then I switched over to a PPO plan with a flat $200 copay for the ER/hospital and $50 for urgent care. As such I paid $200 to get tested for COVID, influenza, and even get an echo done on my heart just because I could. $200. Vs $1400.
