Hey fellow employers of /biz/, what are you using to surveil employees during work-from-home in quarantine?

Pic. related.

Why spooky?
How can I make sure my employees are really working and not jerking off on their bed?!

>actually working
None of these people actually work for 8 hours, they do all their work in one hour and then pretend to work for the rest. This is how office work is.

I implanted chips in the brains of all my employees that explode if they stop work for more than 120 seconds. It also explodes if they use the bathroom for more than 240 seconds. It deactivates during non-work hours, however it still sends signals every 10 seconds to ensure it is operating reliably. Any attempts made to surgically remove the device without the company's permission will result in termination of the employee, and the device will also explode.

my webcam is covered and the company I work in is not run by sociopaths atm so I'm not in this position. This latest crisis has only increased my desire to just fuck off to the countryside and start a small scale vegetable farming business,

Sounds like a laid back, lazy workplace... you won't go far with that attitude.
Employee surveillence results in increased efficiency, I tested this.
What we need in the future is for AI to "watch" the camera and spot for signs that the employee might be slacking off and someohw alert him, nudge him. I prefer the carrot to the stick aproach, so there should also be some kind of reward (like $1 extra per hour) if the employee focuses 95% of the time or mroe.

No cameras get fucked.
There is a bit of spyware on all computers but it just tracks how long you are on facebook.com for example. 90% of my day it will report "anon was using work application"

How about monitoring their results and the value they provide to your business you idiot? If those two things are not apparent to you, then how important are those employees anyway?

Reminds me of the big US company I used to work for. Management was exclusively made up of MBA types but the actual work was all tech. Since the MBAs couldn't understand the work that was being done, they'd have to resort to monitoring things like this - strict dress codes, strict timekeeping, etc for jobs that weren't time sensitive or client facing.

Some employees went crazy because they failed to adapt, and would work hard and do useful things but get frustrated at not being recognised. I learned to focus on the little things boomers care about like "a firm handshake", showing up early and leaving late, and dressing smartly, and was consequently considered a top employee despite never actually doing any work. I'd spend an hour or so each day making nice diagrams that looked complicated, then the rest of the time I'd read.

Punish/reward certain behaviours and that's what people will adapt to. If they'd incentivised production I would have had to produce, but they didn't because they couldn't understand what they were supposed to be making.
