Interacting with corporations doesn't have the same effect as massively raising wages. I mean really, what do you think will happen when every burgerflipper can easily afford to rent an apartment on their own with money left over. Rent will skyrocket until their buying power is the same as it was before and burgerflippers are back to roommating or living with parents.
