So they're printing money like no tomorrow, supposedly to speed up the economy. But where the fuck is that money actually going? It sure isn't going to any small or medium sized companies, nor is it keeping people from getting laid off. So who's really benefiting from all that printed money?

It's the same as 2008. They have to keep asset values inflated NO MATTER WHAT. So the FED buys worthless collateral for whatever they say it's worth, less the entire credit market freezes up and the domino effect of defaults sends us back to the stone age.

What happens to businesses when rent keeps coming but sales stop? They can't pay their notes. What happens when they don't pay their notes? Banks fail. And on and on. You will see insane numbers by EOY.

But at least equity is high, right? Who cares about the actual businesses.

Glad somebody here gets it. All the players in this economy are so levied up that a single default can send the whole thing tumbling down. It's just like 2008 except the issue can't be blamed on blending mortgage risk; it's a systemic issue created by keeping a 0 interest rate policy for years. And now we're going right back to it.

If this crash doesn't happen now it's going to be 10x more destructive during the next bubble

That's unironically the point. The whole thing is detached from reality. It may look like zombie apocalypse by EOY, but the markets will be at ATH and they will report that the economy is expanding.
Clown economics.

The Small Business Administration is giving a $10k grant to every small business owner, independent contractor or sole proprietor that signs up for disaster relief. You can go to covid19relief.sba.gov to sign up for a loan, and iin the application they have a box to check to be considered for the $10k grant. Even if you don't qualify for the loan you can keep the grant and not pay it back.

So this is for everyone who does freelance work, gigs, or whatever and gets a 1099.
