Why aren't the markets going down, what is keeping them up ? I'm bleeding money here.
Thousands of people let go from their jobs, and multiple stores closed down, but somehow it's still green.

The market has been dropping for a month. All that negative shit you mentioned is priced in. Everyone knew the jobs report would be bad (by the way, its temporary). Now, everyone is getting ready for the V shaped recovery. You need to be like a month ahead of everything. If you are reacting when things actually happen, you are a month behind.

It's not priced in. People think it is but the economic prognosis is going to become worse and they will fall. Stocks fell, but they are still double what they were in the 2008 r market crash and we are heading for a worse recession than that.

It's going to take a little while for people to realize how fucked everything is. There's still a lot of hope in the markets along with hype etc.. Many expect a quick recovery from this whole ordeal.
Give it a month or two and we'll see double digit percentages of restaurants gone bankrupt along with other businesses getting fucked.
We're going to see millions of people go into long term unemployment.
There can't be an economy without the consumer and consumer is quickly getting screwed out of the picture. Just give it a bit of time, this is basically the last opportunity for people to get out.
It's all fucked regardless of what the government does.

This is what I've been thinking. I sold all my stocks before Corona got really going and now I'm sitting on my cash, waiting to buy again when the end is in sight.
Sadly, the end is not in sight yet.
